I'm assuming the extra time is needed for repairing one of the bow thrusters, which has been out of service for nearly a year now. The SoVI was only out of service for 3 or so weeks now I believe.

As of 3pm Thursday the SOVI is still in Esquimalt. BC Ferries says she will be back in service Feb 1 which is tommorrow Friday. She isent even out of the drydock yet and same with the Tsawwassen. Will she be ready by tommorrow?? no one knows.
It is anticipated that the Spirit of Vancouver Island will return to service on Tuesday, February 5th.
www.bcferries.com/schedules/notices/notice01310801.htmlAs of 3pm Thursday the SOVI is still in Esquimalt. BC Ferries says she will be back in service Feb 1 which is tommorrow Friday. With the same question in mind, after checking the SiiTech tracking page, I looked through RBI to find that now the SoVI is scheduled to be back on Monday, though who knows how accurate even that is especially considering that the night before she was anticipated to be back in service there still is no service notice contradicting this still-posted ETA for a return to service.- I'm assuming the extra time is needed for repairing one of the bow thrusters, which has been out of service for nearly a year now. The SOVI's having problems with one of her rudders.

At the Vancouver Drydock, where the I-Sky (with my little eye) is being constructed.

Queen of Tsawwassen is currently departing Esquimalt. Spirit of Vancouver Island is still in place at the graving dock; for being in service tomorrow I'd guess she'd be moving by now, but I guess this is just the time that dry dock procedures take and probably the 'VI will be moving soon.

The Vi is leaving esquimalt now. Currently the tswassen is flying at a steady 13 knots up towards Swartz.
The tswassen is going on the earls cove saltery bay route for a month or two right.... Whats up the with the wack. I'm thinking this has been mentioned. Apologies if it has.

As I suspected, Seaspan Foam has pulled our mighty SoVI out of the historic Esquimalt graving dock. Seems that our formidable BC shipyard crews in fact do live upto their name, a force to be recconed with.

The tswassen is going on the earls cove saltery bay route for a month or two right... Don't you mean to add a question mark to that statement of yours? In any case, to everyone, be sure to not rely on the "destination" given by our now trusted siitech.com tracking site. It's fairly obvious that the 'destination' for a given vessel on the site is no more than, in the case of our ferries, the normal route they ply. I seem to recall "Saltery Bay" even being given as the destination when the Queen of Tsawwassen was on Route 9 between Tsawwassen an the Southern Gulf Islands, or some variance of this, so please take your common sense into account firstly for this otherwise extremely accurate tracking site.

yes this is true and the crew must imput this data often so the siitech site updates the data. You wouldn't believe how often, ocean going ships and laker ships forget to input their new destinations and so they will say: destination - thunder bay, when actually they are heading in toronto's direction. That is just one example.

The SOBC is tied up at Swartz Bay this morning which is interesting. I thought she would be going to Deas. Maybe she is going to Esquimalt.

It seems to me as if the Spirits are not ever serviced at Deas. Perhaps I am mistaken about this and I am sure that some of you will correct me if so. I have a hunch that the Spirits are a bit big for getting into Deas, perhaps too big altogether. And that leads me to more questions.... So far the Coastal Renaissance has not visited Deas. Will it before it goes in service? Is it (and its sisters, along with the Spirits) too big for Deas? If indeed the Coastal and Spirit class ships are too big for Deas then is it time to enlarge the Deas facility, or move it altogether?

No the Spirits have been to Deas Dock quite a few times. I work in the industrial park near there and have seen both of them there at different times. I'm trying to find a link to a pic right now.
