I don't think I remember seeing brass propellers painted before? Is it normal?
You can see the Blue Stripe now too.

Wow, some exciting progress on her now. I can't wait until the launch. Speaking of which, who's going to be up at like 3am to watch it on the webcam Thursday morning?

In checking out the webcam this morning I noticed a white structure to the left of the cranes. I can't tell for sure but I wonder if that is the wheelhouse structure ready to lifted onto the ship after launching. The view is ok if you zoom to the maximum (control on the far right of the screen) but after 45 seconds it returns to the view of the marina. I hope that is overridden for the launch. See you all at 6am EST or 3am PST . I'll be on MSN so anyone who wants to can chat real time. I am sure someone will do it but I am hoping that some of the west coast news coverage will get posted because I am not sure we will see it here. And I doubt after watching at 6am I will catch the 2am EST late news on time shifting from BC.

Thank you Mr. Brinkman for your pic because that is the answer to my question about the deckhouse. In the webcam you can see the two large cranes used to lift it onto the ship. Has anyone linked with him at all?

www.flickr.com/photos/brinkmann/464077931In the upper-right of this photo, that door, hinged at the top, looks very similar to what the Spirits have on their port side at aft in order to take on stores at Swartz Bay; this would be fitting considering that the upper passenger deck, according to an official in conversation at the the last BCFS AGM in Victoria, is actually the main passenger deck in the design of the Super Cs.

tsawwassenterminal, I to am interested to see if the super-C's have gull wing doors for taking on stores. But to me, that door you pointed out looks much smaller then the ones found on the Spirits. The S-Class doors are two stories high (this may, or may not be needed to extened their horizontal reach when extended. I dunno) so I am a little pesimistic. Even so, I can't think of any other use for that sort of door. Emergency equipment would be outside right?

Well she floats. Looks a bit odd without the wheel houses and the funnel doesn't appear to be in place either. As she was towed by tugs to the outside position beside the dry dock shed, you could see people on the upper car deck and could get an indication of her size.

SHE IS LAUNCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still in the hole. And down the ways she comes!!! She has now joined the wonderful world of floating maritime objects. Nice photo opportunity! Heading for her outfitting berth and a pair of eyes (wheelhouses). Launch occurred at about 0245 PDT. Apologies for somewhat blurry images. Had to use a digital camera for this. Many thanks to the person manning this webcam for the great views of this launch. ENJOY!!! ;D

www.flickr.com/photos/brinkmann/464979994Speaking of hypocrites, unless of course the plastic baloons filled with helium let-go into the atmostphere only to be dropped by when wind currents who knows where were BCFS's idea - But to not rain down on a perfectly good parade, I digress...
