"The North is sure a deep ship eh."
yeah, I didn't realize how much so. But I guess it makes sense for the nature of the waters of both where it was built to run, and where it was bought to run.

I've now finished uploading to my "Queens of Vancouver and Surrey at Duke Point" gallery. Included are some close up shots of the Vancouver's lounges from the Duke Point parking lot, as well as shots of Quinsam crossing the Surrey's path. See them all at: community.webshots.com/user/grahameajohnson

Karl,
Was it you who was wondering about the airport-style baggage return system at Duke?
Well, whoever it was, there's a shot of it in the new gallery.

Yes, very nice pics! I've always wondered what it would look like to see either the Oak Bay or Surrey at Duke Point.

The Surrey and Oak Bay at Tsawwassen and Duke Point are both rare sights. The Surrey, however, will probably be a secondary ship out of Tsawwassen when the Super "C"s arrive. Nice photos by the way. ;D

I've got some screenshots of Ferries from my videos from the last 3 years uploaded on to my Yahoo Photos site now. They not the greatest quality like all of your expensive cameras, but it's better than nothing. Also some of them can be seen on my Ferry Horns site and as Avatars or Signature Pics on here. ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/chris_iscool2001/album?.dir=/7c30&urlhint=actn,ren%3as,1%3af,0

Definitely better than nothing! Great rare pics of the Sechelt at Tsawwassen; I would pay good money to get my hands on actual footage like that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you mean route 1 or 30? I keep on hearing this rumour about a C-Class being put on route 1 when the Super-'C's arrive, which is contradicted by the fact that they haven't put any C's on the route since the Alberni ran aground. I guess they might figure that they can eat the cost of going to a slower 'mode' through active pass because of some justification such as ship re-deployment issues.

They will likely have a "C" Class ship as a secondary on Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay.

Well why would you pay good money when I can just give you a link to download it yourself for free!;D Here is that video I tried sending several months ago filmed in 1970 by my Grandfather while riding on the Queen of Victoria. Although he sadly passed away in September this year, I am trying to get his old videos on to DVD, and I'm keeping a close eye out for more BC Ferries videos from years ago. So far I've come across this one, and another video from 1995, on route 1, and on the Queen of Victoria I believe. But I do not have it with me right now, but I definitely will post it ASAP. Anyways, here is that link!! s13.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3783PJGPGPXI918YBTTZV4H2R2

That's what I hear, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what's changed their minds about not having any C-Class transit Active Pass since the Alberni ran aground (literally decades ago), due to their lack of menuverability. Is it that they've found some kind of justification for spending the extra cash on fuel (and lost time) due to having to goto a slower mode through the pass?
What surprises me is that it's such a major shift of such a longstanding policy, with little to no reason why.

I think the C Class shouldn't really operate on Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay since they guzzle down gas in mode 2 and the Alberni ran aground in Active pass due to manuverability and the person driving the ship had no clue how to manuver the C Class if it happened to the Alberni it could happen to her sisters and if the same incident happened with the Surrey or one of the other 3 C Class it could topple over on it's side easy
