Saturday Afternoon: I went down to Departure Bay and took some pictures of the Alberni from the Beach. There was someone pressure washing the Sundeck. To tell you the truth the whole outside of the vessle needs a good wash. Anyone Know if the Queen of Surrey is going to be in Departure Bay on Monday? The Oak Bay was at Departure Bay to be de-stored prior going in for her mid life, I was wondering if the Surrey is having the same treatment.

Yes Scott said the Surrey will be arriving on Monday as the Alberni will be back in service. Me and Scott are planning to go on the Surrey in the next little while that she is at DB.

Nice Pics! I see a new thing on the Alberni.....They put wind blockers in front of the doors to access the passenger deck from the upper car deck. The doors that only go from the front ends, and straight down to the upper car deck... community.webshots.com/photo/502699750/502716868irBglsI really will be interesting when they give that ferry the West Coast theme like the other C's next year...

I'm even more curious what they do to the mechanical end of the ship, apparently it's a total 'mess' from all the work done on it to lift it, re-engine etc...

Those windbreakers have been there for a while. I noticed them When the Alberni replaced the Cowichan earlier this year.

Major update notice: I have now completed uploading part one of my pictures of the tour of the Queen of Sidney to my webshots site. More to come. I have also uploaded new photos to my "Refit season" gallery, including the Bowen Queen in drydock (at night) in North Vancouver, and the Queen of Esquimalt, Queen of Nanaimo, Queen of the Islands, Klitsa and Kwuna at Deas. Enjoy.

"what happend to all your other pics?" I recently cleaned out my webshots site to make way for pics from my new camera (5.0 megapixel, 10x optical zoom compared to my old 3.2 megapixel point and shoot camera). But be advised that once my webshots site fills up with new pics (and after trimming partial duplicates and other less popular pics from the mix, of course), I will be rotating my collection. So, if there are any requests for old pics of mine, or for pics that you would like to see remain on the site, don't hesitate to ask me. "they're really overhauling the Nanny and Kwuna!!" I can only imagine, at the start of storm season, the Kwuna's voyage between the Queen Charlottes and Deas; let alone the trip back, much deeper into the storm season. The Kwuna being a K-Class, it would almost be like bringing one of the albion ferries up there!

I like the ammount of space, but I noticed on your site that there wasn't any access to larger versions of the pictures. With webshots I get 240 pics, regardless of size.

Yeah true. I like the larger photos you can get with Webshots and even Fotopic. But I dont really like Fotopic cause you cant give descriptions for each photo. Webshots if you use up all your space just do another account and there you go again.

Yeah, I had set the camera for the earlier pics in order to capture the SOVI and Tsawwassen terminal with the interior of the Surrey as the frame, and forgot to put it back to a brighter setting.
