...AND, SHE HAS LEFT GERMANY BEHIND. With her passage of the Kiel Canal done, I'm in the act in heading to the sack and take a good nap. I've been up all night and today, providing my faithful coverage of the NORTHERN EXPEDITION to you all. For the duration of this cruise, I'm taking out the deck chair and enjoy. If anyone wishes me to continue my coverage at her next ports of call, I have my camera in hand. I will, however, be providing you midnight reports as able. Oh, yes. I'll be climbing into the cockpit of my 744 and do aerial surveys of her routing on my MS FSX. HAVE A GREAT TRIP, MV NORTHERN EXPEDITION!

She's emerged into the Elbe. Now travelling WSW at 14 knots.
The NE has just discharged her Elbe pilot and is approaching the formal entrance to the North Sea, travelling west at a steady 15 knots.
The NE has now settled into the North Sea vessel traffic matrix, continuing WSW at 15 knots.

I am already signed in, and again, she's not visible. You are using a feed that only you can access.
The Northern Expedition crossed into Dutch waters at approximately 07:57 UTC (23:57 PST, 08:57 CET, 23h 43m VET).

So have we figured out how to make the NorEx visible on Digital Seas? I've logged in too and can't find her unless I do a search. Trouble is, the search doesn't translate into a track on the map.
She shows up fine in the Google Earth Plug-in.

Sorry, nuerni. She's not on that plot. Sorry DE, but she is. Just zoom out and go to a place north of Norderney. Woo Hoo! This delivery-thread has now been baptized with its first "Claim / Denial / Counter-Claim". We all knew that it was going to happen, just a matter of figuring out when ;D I can't wait for a variation of the forum's classic " Y vs. T" claim/denial/counter-claim to come up on this thread too. We really should have betting pools for these types of things. Fun diversions during the long cruise....kind of like us kids playing a board-game to pass the time. And one more thing: I've booked The Tragically Hip to make their customary appearance on this delivery-thread, at the customary place.... ;D

SPECIAL NOON EDITION 01-31-2009 1205PST BCF has turned pages on the tracker after the 1205PST plot and now presents this map on their 1303PST plot. She is now nearing the spot where ships pass over the Chunnel.

JOLLY GOOD! It's time for us to head down to the Mess and get some tea and crumpets. I dearly miss those PRINCESS MARGUERITE ads. TAKE A PRINCESS TO SEA! TAKE A PRINCESS TO SEA! HAVE SOME CRUMPETS AND TEA! HAVE SOME CRUMPETS AND TEA! IT'S FUN ABOARD, ALL THE WAY! SAIL AWAY FOR THE DAY, HEY, HEY, HEY! LET'S ALL GO TO VICTORIA, ABOARD THE PRINCESS MARGUERITE! Soon, the NORTHERN EXPEDITION will follow a few of the MAGGIE's courses somewhatly on the way to Panama and the West Coast of the American continents. ;D

...And, that's what we all should be doing. Enjoying a delightful cruise. That jolly good message above relates to the delivery voyage of the PRINCESS MARGUERITE from Scotland to BC in 1949. Most of Canadian Pacific's liners came from Scotland. The people of those days didn't have the tracking resources we are blessed in having these days on the delivery voyages of the new builds from Germany. Be thankful in what we have today.

01-31-2009 1604PST (It's hockey time!) I wonder how many people in the Chunnel realise that there is new ferry bound for BC passing over above?

Good idea! Let's open the hatch and head in.
And, we'll leave the taking of sea sick pills to those who need them. ;D
Time for dinner in the Mess. Then, some time in the observatory.
Time for some good testing of her bow and visor out on the Atlantic.
Good time also for the testing of her stabilisers in real ocean conditions.
