I think the first new Northern Vessel should be named (new as in fresh out of the yard) Spirit of Hartley Bay, the second Spirit of the North. The third I'm not sure about.

Well we certainly need something that references the Queen Charlotte Islands. How about the Spirit of Haida Gw'aii - or a completely Haida name and paint the ferry in Haida war canoe colours ... can you imagine that emerging from the fog in Hecate Strait ...
Basically pick a name that means something to us Northerners!

Remember, it cannot be Queen or Spirit, has to be a new name. I like the Idea of the Saviour of Inside Passage, but definatly a good name has to be invented that is not Queen, Spirit, or Coastal.

aww, man. You just made my life harder.
How 'bout MV Haida Gwaii? Or (oh god, I wish they had called the Kwuna the Skeena Queen (it would actually make sense) and the Skeena Queen the Kwuna) Savior of the North Coast, Storm of the North West?

They will have a contest. Everyone will make suggestions. Then the boardroom guys at BCFS will ignore all and pick nauseating names just like they did for the German double enders. Can you say Coastal Constipation?

Wow, how about the names lack some "Coastal Inspiration"

Can you say Coastal Constipation? That could be what they will do. But that would be the expensive way of doing it. The cheaper way of doing it, would be holding on to that list of names suggested from the contest they had earlier this year, and then looking through them for ideas for new names for all future ships. But you never know, we'll have to wait and see what happens!

Hmmm I'd bet theyll be like
Coastal Rebirth Coastal Voyages Coastal Vacations
why?
Because all those names suck, so they'll fit in quite well.

Coastal Passage; Coastal Coast; Coastal Nausea?

Why not Spirit of the Coast? That would be one great name Serenity of the Coast another good one but Queen of the Coast is a little iffy Klawata.

That First one Coastal Rebirth is what that other BS Name Coastal Rennaissance means. If they ever use that Coastal Wording again they should use something like Rennaisance of the Coast they should keep the 'of'/"of the" in the Ferry Names

Actually the Renaissance was an artsy-fartsy period in Europe in the medieval ages.
Maybe BC Ferries will sponsor Pepto-Bismo...and build five smaller ships instead of three bigger ones. Oh yeah...you know what that means...!
Coastal Nausea, Coastal Heartburn, Coastal Indigestion, Coastal Upset Stomach, and Coastal Diarrhea!

LMAO!!!!!!!! I am afraid I will not be having to go into the corporate offices of BC Ferries anytime soon with that "Coastal Constipation" going around along with dealing with that "Coastal Inspiration" issue LOL!

Actually the Renaissance was an artsy-fartsy period in Europe in the medieval ages. Which happens to mean rebirth in French or one of those languages

I'd prefer a name based on geography or history: ie. a place name or a relevant historical figure.
I'm not keen on a "theme name", like the new Super-C's have.
There's lots of local geographic names on the inside passage route, to draw some inspiration from: - Cape Caution - Hakai Pass - Milbanke - Grenville - Hartley Bay - Kitasoo - Klemtu - Bella Bella
But please, no "great bear rainforest", which is a politically-created name, not an historical place name.

That First one Coastal Rebirth is what that other BS Name Coastal Rennaissance means. Not if you're artsy fartsy, they do infact have different meanings.
