When ya need the Fast cats you don't have them if tey gave the fastcats modifications to the engines and car capacity they would fit in fine

Uh oh, Queen of Cowichan was having problems today. Let's hope she doesn't break down by this weekend because it is the weekend that starts off spring break.

If the Super C idea came instead of Fastcats we wouldn't have this problem

The fast cats would be ideal for the duke point-tswwassen because it's all open water except for when it get around entrance island. That would free up the alberni and the new west.

They could of but no overhights allowed on them they also could put them on PR-Comox i think thats because the waves hit the shoreline insetad of docks most of the docks are closed into bays and no fastcat waves could hit or damage docks say anyone think it would be fun swimming in the Pacificats wake BIG WAVES ;D Fun of course you would have some sort of floating device.

the only time the cats generate the waves is when they are either speeding up or slowing down, so if you moved the place where they slowed down then you could've done without the irate customers

I would have posted this sooner, but I couldn't access the boards at all this morning. The SOVI left the drydock and Esquimalt around 8 this morning. Can anyone confirm where it is now? Is it in Swartz Bay?

Oh, and the Captain on the Queen of Saanich, on the 11:00am sailing to Tsawwassen, announced that she would be returning to service this afternoon.

Apologies for the triple post.
It should be mentioned that the Queen of Esquimalt tied up to berth 2 at Swartz Bay at 9:35 this morning. The schedule in the terminal indicated a ferry every two hours alternating Queen of Saanich and Queen of Vancouver until the 9pm sailing.

the sovi came back into service today with the 3pm sailing. the last two days had the esquimalt do a 6am sailing from swartz with an 8am return and then sailings on the even hour as needed

More cancelled sailings for spring break it looks like; strongskier posted the revised schedule.

I think that what he posted is supposedly in addition to extra sailings that have already been listed in the All Routes Schedule. The dates that Strong Skier posted were for this coming weekend, and in the All Routes Schedule the only extra sailings listed are for the weekend after.

Oh, Sorry. I just realized that you were referring to the cancelled Duke Point / Tsawwassen sailings of the Queen of Alberni.
My bad.

what concerns me is, and this is only a theory and I may be wrong, that under the coastal ferry act, BC Ferry Services Inc. is reqired to maintain a certain level of service to all routes it serves. If they keep dropping sailings from rte 30, then they could in fact lose the contract for that run. It could then be bid on by another service provider, Washinton Marine for example. (Oh, so that's why they're building such a large ramp at Tsawwassen only capable of loading a single deck)

Route 30 only needs two sailings a day I believe. I was just reading up on it the other day. Some of the numbers are very wierd, that would be one of them (such a low number). Others are disproportionatly high.

Are you refering to the Coastal Ferry Act or to Essential service levels mandated by the LRB?

I dont see what that would have to do with the SOBC in Vancouver as I dont think they would leave the SOBC to go work on the SOVI. It would be the drydock in Esquimalt that did the work on the SOVI along with BC Ferries engineers.

The SOBC must in Esquimalt or something because she's not in North Van. I drove by the shipyards today.

I dont think the SOBC is in Esquimalt, I think she is at Deas or maybe even Tsawwasse. Who knows?, but I would bet it's Deas.
