I doubt that--but they might be adding a continuous carriage fall-restraint system to make washing the old ones easier.

Chelan will be on the Interisland route tomorrow... I'm pretty sure this will be the first time a Issaquah-130 is placed on the Interisland run. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as I know, this is the first time an Issaquah 130 class (or any vessel with side decks for that matter) has been used on the interisland route. A couple of years, the maintenance schedule showed that the Chelan was going to be used on the route for a little while but that got changed.

The last of my photos from the June 7th trip. Too bad there is so little deck space on this class of ship. Nice that the new ships have fixed that problem.

Chelan at 10:00pm tonight. - re-positioning into a tie-up slip at Anacortes. She just moves out a bit, slows to a stop, and changes direction to move back into the other slip. Of course, she changes her navigation lights when she changes direction. It was fun to watch this maneuver. ---------- I'll be posting more photos (and eventually some videos) of the sunset & dusk ferry-movements at Anacortes.

MV Chelan, seen by me on July 15, 2014. Here she is at Lopez Island, on a foggy morning. I'm on Elwha. ------------- Here she is at dusk in a tie-up berth at Anacortes: - the red-roofed building in the photo is Ship Harbor Motel, which was my base for a couple of days

So the Chelan got back to the Islands early this afternoon and since there's no one going to Sidney (all traffic was supposed to be interrupted until tonight) she's helping out with the Friday evening traffic to the Islands. It's fun to watch her on Marine Traffic. She already has made a roundtrip to Lopez and is now at Orcas.
