Made our first cross-border ferry trip since January of last year, believe it or not its been that long, today. Day trip down to Victoria and back on the SoBC and the Coastal Celebration, which remains my favorite ferry on the route so far. USA -> Canada border crossing procedures aren't extremely complicated but you definitely need to be prepared for everything they are looking for. And just to make things more wild, the SoVI actually broke down this morning and as a result, bumped us from the 10a to the 11a out of Tsawwassen because of that overflow. All in all definitely worth it for sure.

Is this debate again the Coastal Inspiration and Coastal Celebration switching routes again it seems like it will happen according to reservation page on Sunday September 24, 2022 which I doubt this will happen because it didn’t happen when we first saw this purposed.

They are not switching, from what I hear. Now the Ren switch I think is happening with the Albernie.

www.bcferries.com/news-releases/schedule-changes-coming-extra-sailings-between-tsawwassen-swartz-bayThe schedule for the Coastal Celebration on the Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay supplemental sailings is being adjusted starting Oct. 23 to accommodate a slightly longer voyage due to a mechanical issue. Primary sailings on the route continue as usual - every two hours on the odd hour between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Changes are being made out of an abundance of caution as engineers have identified an issue with one of the drive motors on the Coastal Celebration. As a result, for safety reasons, the ship will not sail through Active Pass. Instead, the vessel will sail south of the area, adding about 15 minutes to the voyage. Safety is BC Ferries number one priority and the vessel is safe to operate with the mitigation measures the company is taking.

Why is Coastal Celebration heading to Duke Point? Hmmh... yes, that is pretty strange, and as far as I can see, no explanation on the website. Most likely a glitch on Marine Traffic, kind of like where the Queen of Esquimalt is shown in Howe Sound? BC Ferries shows the ' Celebration at Swartz Bay. Cannot imagine any weather events where the Swartz Bay bound vessel heads for Duke Point.

Marine Traffic does show her at Departure Bay. Maybe she actually is there, for a reason. Hey, there were sailings cancelled earlier today because of frozen water pipes onboard a vessel. BC Ferries is improvising on the fly these days.

Hey, there were sailings cancelled earlier today because of frozen water pipes onboard a vessel. BC Ferries is improvising on the fly these days. I can assure you that she is here at Departure Bay! Came in last night, rattled my house, and tied up at the maintenance pier. Unusual sight. Has the Celebration always had the decal of the women's hockey team on the side or is that new?

Has the Celebration always had the decal of the women's hockey team on the side or is that new? The decals haven't changed since they were applied at the Flensburger Shipyard, after the ship was launched and deckhouses fitted. Here's a naked view HERE

The Celebration is one ferry I don't see often so I was not familiar with the decals.
