She does have some pretty substantial vibration issues while running in mode 2...

Forgive my ignorance, but what does the vibrations have to do with different routes?
Route 30 is substantially longer than Route 2, so it doesn't really make any sense to me. I actually like the vibrations, as it's soothing, probably from being on boats all of my life.
It's me, Deepsea. I am just having issues relogging in.

A ferry just isn't a ferry without the good vibrations.

A ferry just isn't a ferry without the good vibrations. I Agree. A BC Ferry wouldn't be one if it didn't have some form of vibration.

The ship when underway sails with very little vibration.
It is a different story when it is running in Mode 2. While coming into and out of HB, DB and while berthed the Renaissance shakes much, much more than it should. This is the issue that is being mentioned by the crews..

hmm three middle lanes up top (new ramps to allow faster un/loading?) and only a salon uptop big waste of that nice front viewing area (should have made it an inside lounge).

Question: Is the bridge on Deck four or Deck five?

Question: Is the bridge on Deck four or Deck five? Deck 5, if they're counting the decks the same way, lower vehicle deck being deck 2.

Everytime I look at these picture of the Super C Model it always looks so majestic. I wonder what the main Car deck will Look like. Will there be platform ramps/gallery decks and how will they be set up? Will they be like the C Class gallery decks or the Spirit platform ramps

I thought it might be a good idea to share our potential stakeout locations among ourselves to get all the angles as she arrives in DB.
So many locations to choose from!
Departure bay beach is the obvious one
Perhaps from around Brechin Point?
Or I wonder about right from inside the terminal...

Bellhouse Park Galiano, also the beach in Active Pass if she is transiting Active Pass or Saturna Island at East Point if she is going that way.
Along Dallas Road in Victoria anywhere along that side of Victoria but wouldent be good for long distance photos.
If she is arriving on the 13th before it is dark I might just go up to Nanaimo and see her as she comes in as I am probably not gonna take another ferry trip this week.

If she's in English Bay when and if convenient for me, I'll try to get a photo as I'm downtown during the day.

Anyone know if she's just coming to English Bay or if she'll come right into the harbour?

In that Times Colonist article from a few days ago, it said she'd go under the Lions Gate Bridge, and turn around in the harbour.
Sugarloaf Mountain in Nanaimo is another potential location, which overlooks the Strait, and Departure Bay.
EDIT: Nevermind, just read the Renaissance thread on the ETA....

Heard she was coming under the bridge (Lion's Gate) for a media photo op from an employee too. Not sure, would they do this before picking up the Nanaimo pilot (1300 hrs) or after?

ETA for Nanaimo would be around what time??? Rough estimate? Seeing as the Pacific Pilotage site is still noting a leave time from English Bay (just outside / west of Vancouver) as being 1300 (thanks to the heads-up from our forum member queenofcowichan), 1pm, I'd guess relatively soon after that... Check out:www.ppa.gc.ca/text/jobs-e.php?job=vancouver_jfdWhere this can be found...(If that makes any real sense to you all) I'll be trying for a photographic opportunity from or near the Spanish Banks near UBC myself if anyone wants to join me; any suggestions for optimum viewing? If not, I too am curious about our chances to see her transit the First Narrows below the Lions Gate Bridge
