Great shots, Scott! How do you get those night-shots so sharp and still? Answer: Monopod and Nikon 18-200mm VR II.

Great picture! Just look at that beautiful shiny funnel! I thought that photos and multimedia don't show on the BCF's wireless... I guess they do. Well, as for me, I've boycotted it on every route except for the 4+ hour routes, so I won't be posting any photos unless I'm in the terminals. I guess if I were a resident with my property backing onto Active Pass, I could run to the seaside on a sunny day with my laptop, wait for a ferry to pass, and check my email and stuff before the connection goes away. No more paying for internet! I wonder if people who live next to Departure Bay/Horseshoe Bay/Swartz Bay terminals will be able to get the connection once they get it going at the terminals? We use wireless at our house, but we don't have a password on it, so I know that pretty much all our neighbours up to 6 or 7 houses away use our connection instead of paying for their own. Our router is pretty strong, I guess

SOVI photos from August 26, 2010: - pax deck layouts, from brochure: The port-side platform deck. Stern of upper vehicle deck (why do I hear that phrase with a German accent?): - Childrens' Volleyball court - that's not Coastal or QNW height ! Seems vertically-cramped compared to those other ships' upper decks. Standing at stern of deck-6: -------- SOVI arriving at Swartz Bay:

Then we were on the same trip, Karl! I'm surprised I didn't see you. You may have seen me holding up my two cameras videoing the whole thing from right behind the zodiac-davit.

Wow, Nice one at the end of the rainbow! Thanks, Nova That's the biggest rainbow I've ever seen, and some people who were on that trip said the exact same thing. Just from that rainbow, everyone on the outside deck started talking as if they'd been friends for years. It's funny how things like that bring a sense of community to an otherwise very large, impersonal place.

SOVI on 11/11/2010: Why post a dark & grey photo of 2 ships that have been photographed many times before? - This is the winter reality of asymmetrical Spirit-schedules. One is a #1 ship and the other is a #2 ship. As such, they now normally meet in the strait instead of in Active Pass. SOVI and Princess Superior, in Swanson Channel - photo taken at same time as the one that Scott has posted, above in this same thread. (from Bowen Queen)
