Spirit of Vancouver Island is Tsawwassen based today for some reason. The Spirit of BC is out of service this week so only the Coastal Celebration and Spirit of Vancouver Island are doing route 1.

Spirit of Vancouver Island making a very unusual manoeuvre off Village Bay, today. I have never seen any route 1 ferry go this close to Village Bay before. Is there any reason for this?

I’ve seen the New West take that path once before, how close were other vessels?

Sometimes they will take that route to avoid traffic coming the other way. Enterprise reef spans quite far, with safe water to the North or the red lateral marker to the green can buoy close to Crane Pt on Mayne Island. It's also followed for training purposes

Spirit of Vancouver Island will do 1 am sailing from Tsawwassen on December 9th. That would probably be for the swifties going to the Taylor Swift concert that night. I'm surprised they won't have them for the 7th and 8th too.

But on December 6th both Spirits have added 5 am and 11 pm sailing from both terminals. I wonder if 5 am and 11 pm will be occurring during summer months too on Friday and Sundays.

I doubt it, unless the QoNW is still not back by summer. As I mentioned this is probably to deal with everyone going to the Taylor Swift concerts.

I have seen 5 am and 11 pm on October 14 so BC Ferries thinks they might be good idea. I would love to see how public would respond to 5 am Fridays or 1 am Monday morning and 11 pm on Friday and Sundays during summer months because they draw more passengers from extreme busy times.
