breaking news from the SOVI engineering department theres a high chance that the shaft line going from the #3 engine to the gearbox has snapped as my dad whos a third engineer on her has told me that if its as bad as they are beliving it may require a major surgery to the #3 engine however there will not be a full diagnosis until her planned refit taking place at Deas Dock aka BCFS FMU in Febuary so nothings guarenteed but its defenitly a huge concern Could you add some punctuation to your post, so it's not one big run-on sentence?

Spirit of Vancouver Island cruises toward its berth at Swartz Bay Terminal on its last service day prior to its annual refit. I trust they power-washed some of that rust stain off of her.

Yesterday sailing on the SoVI, something felt off at the Deck 6 stern outside deck area... Couldn't quite put my finger on it.
Today I'm on the SoBC, allowing me to compare, and realized, they've removed almost all the exterior seating on the SoVI's deck 6 area by the SeaWest Lounge. Specifically 13 of the big white "boxes". That's actually quite a reduction. Wonder why?

Spirit of Vancouver Island resting at Tsawwassen Terminal, just prior to departing for the 1 PM sailing for Swartz Bay. Flickr says the location of this photo is "Tsawwassen Beach, Washington, United States". I know for a fact that while very close to the USA the location is actually in Canada.

Why did BC Ferries have the Spirit of Vancouver Island at Swartz Bay and didn’t move her to maintenance facilities in Metro Vancouver?

this was from SVI but it might as well have been double posted on SBC as well... still closed: erased from existence: (photo of buffet, but size too big to upload) 79% traffic and catering crew of 18: (no idea if that is low, appropriate, or high considering staffing troubles) closed right now, usually open? (upstairs starbucks; again too big) open as always: giftshop (no photo taken as its never closed) * somebody told me, across all departments (ship and shore), on revenue/ employee, giftshop is second only to the xxxxxx.

Starbucks and to a lesser degree Sea West closed these days is pretty rare - although my usual frequent observations come to an abrupt end in mid-June as I've been flying lately to avoid the mayhem that is BC Ferries.
