We saw one of the Spirits out in the Strait of Juan De Fuca on Friday when coming into Victoria on the Clipper. It was too far away to tell which ship it was. Was it SOVI? Yes, it would have been the SoVI. At the time you saw her, its twin was likely in service as vessel #3 on BC Ferries route 1. If not, the SoBC was tied up at TSW Terminal. |

Did I miss something? I thought the SoVI was supposed to be at EGD for her refit right now... I heard that one ship was going to be gypped out of a proper drydocking refit, but I didn't think it was the SoVI. Or is my memory just screwing with me? The SOVI just came out of EGD. The Coastal Celebration is the one which will just tie up at Swartz Bay for short "refit". |

A nice and clean looking, and fresh out of refit SOVI yesterday afternoon during the 3:00pm sailing  Plus some lower quality photos from her first day back in service as the number 1 boat out of Swartz Bay, just off of Gossip Shoal..Feb 27th during the 1:00pm sailing.   |

I was on the 5pm SOVI from Tsawwassen Friday and she was looking pretty good!

Spirit of Vancouver Island - Tsawwassen bound - in Active Pass - summer 2003. This is another 'in transistion' photo from the camera of Mr. DOT, showing the vessel with a 'slugged' funnel, along with an otherwise unchanged 'Expo' livery. 23 May 12  Approaching Tsawwassen. It seems like the Spirits are taking a course further South than I am used to (perhaps in line with Berth 3?) and then making a hard turn port to get into berth. Perhaps I just have not noticed this in the past?   BC Ferries needs an exterior designer. The colour of the rope certainly clashes with the ship.  Saskatchewan, "land of the living sky," in British Columbia!  Looking a little dated.  Approaching Swartz Bay from the opposite direction one would be used to on an S-Class ferry.  Coastal Renaissance in Berth 3, not in service this day.  Sliding into the berth.     Along side the Coastal Renaissance. |
