The Coastal Inspiration seems to have rammed into the dock at Duke Point.
It's a shame the terminal only has one birth; the rest of the ferries on that route have been rerouted to Departure Bay.

Hard to believe that it's already been a month since that happened, and that there's still 3 more months to go until Duke Point gets reopened. - Hopefully the Inspiration will be back in-service later this week. When you sailed on the Inspiration, how did you like it compared to a Jumbo Mark II ?

Scott: that is a very sweet image of Mt. Baker, from Sugarloaf Mountain.

! Also, the 2010 Olympics were held in Canada. The 2012 Olympics will not be. Are you sure about that? I printed up a bunch of " Moose Jaw 2012 Olympics" t-shirts and I assumed that I'd be able to sell them at the opening ceremonies.

I noticed something odd on the Route-30 ships' route to/from Departure Bay. - my vantage point was Sugarloaf Mountain, near Departure Bay. On approach today, the ship took a bit longer going a bit further north in the strait, to pass to the north of Snake Island, just like a route-2 ship does. On departure, the ship took the normal route to the south of Snake Island, as she headed towards Entrance Island There was no marine traffic in the way. The only reason that I could think of was that the Route-2 'Cowichan was in-berth at Departure Bay, and that the Route-30 vessel needed to kill some time, so that the overhead ramps would be free for the arriving route-30 ship.

VIDEO of the Coastal Inspiration sounding her horn and departing berth-2 at Departure Bay, on Route-30. - seen from Sugarloaf Mountain on March 3, 2012. www.facebook.com/v/10150656693613647

Coastal Inspiration seen by me from Sugarloaf Mountain, on March 3, 2012. - she's on Route-30. She's rounded the far side of Snake Island (unknown why she'd take a longer route around the the north-side of that island), and Entrance Island is in the background. Passing Nares Point on Newcastle Island, where Scott recently had a red-letter outing to photograph ships entering/leaving Departure Bay. C'Inspiration is headed for berth-2. Queen of Cowichan is in berth-3. Shaft Point, one of my favourite spots on Newcastle Island, is in the background, just forward of the funnel.

If one of our members finds themselves in Lower Lonsdale, I would be very interested to see some photos of the Coastal Inspiration's current progress at VDD.
Please and thank you! ;D

Please and thank you! ;D I might be able to swing in a detour tomorrow morning after dropping of a friend at YVR. If not, I'll just try and make it to Deas to see what's going on there.

I'm looking at these pics on my phone right now, so I'm seeing a condensed version. Does it look to anyone else like the Olympic wraps are being peeled off?,

It shall be interesting to see what it looks like with out them. Our musical moderator, Mr. Flugel Horn, posted some of Markus's photos of Coastal Renaissance in Flensburg before she got the Olympic wraps. This pretty much tells us what the Coastals will look like without the decals. It's in the Coastal Renaissance thread, but here is the pic in question: Here's the view of her hull that we will eventually see here in BC link to thread: ferriesbc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=major&action=display&thread=7336&page=39
