Nice angle, with all 4 squares of car deck tunnel perfectly lined up, with light at the end of each of the 4. Well done !

Queen of Burnaby approaching Westview Terminal (Powell River) at end of run from Little River (Comox) on Vancouver Island - 24 September 2013. She is not currently looking like the rust bucket that has come to be pretty much the norm in recent years. I'd say she is fit to fill in on route 9 for a while this fall/winter while her sister, the Nanaimo, is given its last make-over. photo © WCK-JST by Wett Coast, on Flickr

I'd say she is fit to fill in on route 9 for a while this fall/winter while her sister, the Nanaimo, is given its last make-over. But mechanically, she still has the port-side propeller shaft problem (or something similar to that) which is the reason why she has so many weather cancellations on her Comox route. - this problem might be an issue in operating at Tsaswwassen and Sturdies Bay during Autumn storm season. But she does look better.

Does anyone know when the Queen of Burnaby will replace the Queen of Nanaimo this maintenance season?

A couple photographs of the Burnaby at EGD. Both taken earlier today by Donella...

It's hard to say for sure in those photos, but it nearly looks like the Starboard Propeller is missing in the lower photo. If that's the case, I wonder where it could have gone?

Perhaps parts are being 'borrowed' to get the Nanaimo back in service ASAP.

Perhaps parts are being 'borrowed' to get the Nanaimo back in service ASAP. I think Rambo is correct on this. It makes sense that parts of the starboard propeller go to the Nanaimo, because that's the quickest way for the 'Nanaimo to get her prop repaired. The 'Burnaby doesn't need her propeller until next March or April.

The 'Burnaby doesn't need her propeller until next March or April. Not necessarily… last I checked she was scheduled to relieve the Nanaimo whenever her Refit occurs sometime in early 2014. Unless perhaps the Nanaimo's unscheduled Dry-Docking has changed that...

It makes sense that parts of the starboard propeller go to the Nanaimo, because that's the quickest way for the 'Nanaimo to get her prop repaired. And BC Ferries could put the repaired prop on her instead of wasting money to build a brand new prop for her.

What is the status of the Burnaby?
Last check on Siitech she was still at the repair facility.

It's not that nobody cares, it's the fact that nothing really worth mentioning has occurred since the update in November...
She has been moved around Deas since the November update, most recently she was moved from Berth 7 over to 1 prior to the Northern Expedition's arrival on Sunday. Other than that, she will continue to remain at Deas until the missing components for her starboard propeller are available. When those arrive, she'll be towed to a dry dock...

I've seen photos from Sunday that show the Burnaby still at Deas Dock. That wasn't the 'Burnaby, it was the Queen of Richmond.

I've been neglecting getting my walkthroughs up the last month, this month I hope to change that. For now, here's the Queen of Burnaby.
Later this week: The Queen of Cumberland.

So according to the reservation page the Queen of Burnaby will be on rotue 9 starting Feb 24th until March 31st as she will be back on route 17 April 1st which means the Island Sky should be back on route 7 unless she is going for refit after.

The Queen of Burnaby is heading to Otter Bay as I speak, as she couldn't make it to Tsawwassen for the last run of the night. She turned around in the strait shortly past Sturdies Bay, and had to stop at Village Bay to drop off any Vancouver Bound islanders (and will be doing the same at the Otter Bay stop). She's currently making way at 16.8 knots in Swanson Channel.

The Queen of Burnaby on route nine. I am posting these photos because this could be my only and last time to see her on route nine. Click the photos to get to my Flickr if you to see more photos.
