To quote Mr. WCK, the "stretched & unlifted" B & V class Spauldings were the best look of that class. - this photo supports that position.

Back when the Burnaby looked sweet, though those BC Spirit logos were somewhat of a spoiler & a foreshadowing of not-so-good changes to come...

Back when the Burnaby looked sweet, though those BC Spirit logos were somewhat of a spoiler & a foreshadowing of not-so-good changes to come... Oh, how I miss the Dogwood pastel blue and white livery! What If ?.....the current Opposition Party, with a newly minted leader, led the charge, and set in policy, the "un-doing" of the tragic mess that now exists with this quasi- crown-corporation and re-established this most valuable entity as a fully restored Crown Corporation? ( there are other "quaisis" that should be dismantled as well but that's for another day's discussion). The return of legitimate ACCOUNTABILITY should resonate with every voter in B.C., not just the folks that live in ferry-connected communities but folks province-wide that through their elected representatives could demand the return of a viable, efficient, user-friendly marine transportation system that is absolutely vital to the stability and growth of the economy and life-style of all British Columbians. 'Just because' is not an acceptable response spewed forth by those that currently govern. Those who are responsible for the current disastrous mess should get used to the the rumblings of "What IF ?"

In that form, that class of ferries looked the best. It will be sad to see them go in 2015 (right? or is it 2016?). Wow, that's pretty soon!

Tonight, the Queen of Burnaby will complete her final (scheduled) journey on Route 9, and return home to Comox to begin service on Thursday. And so it goes, the beginning of the end for the single-deck B-Class sister duo. I completely agree with you on that! In that form, that class of ferries looked the best. It will be sad to see them go in 2015 (right? or is it 2016?). Wow, that's pretty soon! The slated in-service date for the ICFs is 2016.

Great work by the Master and crew of the Queen of Burnaby! Their efforts, once again, underscore the value of having our 'navy/coast-guard' ferries on the water up and down the West Coast providing such life saving duties, NOT tied up at their home ports on reduced service levels!

This has "5-11-97" written on it. From the size, I suspect it was in Parade, the weekend magazine that comes in the Seattle Times.

:)the graphics just posted by evergreen fleet of the marg 111 artwork shows how deceiving steamship art could be, to my mind this was among the most awful ships livery this coast had inflicted on their eves! mrdot.
