Here are takes from my trip on the Oak Bay from earlier in the month.
First though, here's some opinions on the 3/4 Life Upgrade: Overall, a lot of changes were very subtle compared to what we got a decade ago. The expansion of the gift shop and moving the entrances made sense as did the rearrangement of the snack bar space. While I'm getting used to the new carpet, I feel they could have made a better choice with the pattern. The seat reupholstery meanwhile is both good and bad. The red pattern on the cafeteria seats is a very nice change while the blue pattern is a bit off-putting and doesn't blend in well. The grey backrests in the lounges meanwhile look very sharp along with the traditional beige, however, keeping the olive green backrests in the mid-ship corridors was a mistake in my opinion. As for the Satellite TV displays, it's a welcome change, though perhaps a number of years late considering the Spirits had them installed at the same time the Oak Bay and Surrey had their MLUs. I know, different ships, different routes but it's nice to see a little more parity between Routes 1 and 2. (Still waiting on the Pacific Buffet someday ) Anyways, enough of my ranting, on to the pictures...
Warning: Photo Heavy!
