The Queen of Oak Bay isn't at Departure Bay for her usual 8:25 am sailing this morning, so I had a look on Marine Traffic, and she seems to be in drydock at Esquimalt. Looks like she comes back on the schedule on January 25.

Looks like she comes back on the schedule on January 25. The Queen of Oak Bay was docked at Langdale’s berth 2 this weekend. Made for a few unique photo opportunities with her ‘C’ Class twin, Queen of Surrey and her Route 2 counterpart, Queen of Cowichan. Judging by Marine Traffic, it looks like she departed Langdale around 0200 this morning and arrived in Esquimalt just before 0800.

The Queen of Oak Bay had to wait just outside of Departure Bay this morning, for a black bear swimming across the mouth of the bay, escorted by the Port of Nanaimo police boat. This caused a bit of a delay in arrival and departure, and the departure status on BC Ferries' website reads "Unexpected marine traffic is causing a short delay".

I guess if you're gonna go for a hike on Newcastle Island ... you'll have company.

I was on Queen of Oak Bay and saw whales near Bowen Island, and the ship was going as fast normal and didn’t alter are corse. Aren’t Captains legally need to slow down and alter corse of travel?

not sure if u guys care or are aware, but QOB is enroute for refit right now. www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=7902283queen coquitlam = substitute until further notice it had a very interesting day: trip 1 was pretty bad this morning (93pax) most of the crew thought trip 2 was worse (655pax) trip 3 was definitely the worst (6-something pax) and trip 4 was the best of the day (893pax) lotsa irritated foot pax on trip 4 btw b/c she had to dock in berth 1 at hsb! (disembark on main car deck instead of overhead)

Queen of Oak Bay being towed up the Fraser River by the Seaspan Raven and SMIT Pride this afternoon. Are BCF ships always towed to Deas, or does the Oaky have engine issues right now?

I think this might have been a case of it being cheaper to hire a couple of tugs than muster a crew to sail it to Deas.

I saw that on their website, briefly, as well. And just this last week, there was yet another Marine Traffic 'sighting' of the Queen of Burnaby in Howe Sound. Maybe there's a parallel universe that sometimes intersects with our own, where ferries aren't bound by the natural laws that we're familiar with.

Thats a joke right, I mean I think I may have seen the Queen of Richmond while my dad was taking me for a drive over the Alex Fraser Bridge.
