Looks like this was done on a Commodore 64.

I noticed only two of the ships are together... the third is further west at least according to the most recent satellite image.
Following the Cats is almost like following the McBarge's travels.

Pacificat Explorer at Departure Bay berth #1. Undergoing what seems to be a safety drill. Not sure on the date, found the slide while digging through boxes of family photos.

It really is a shame BC ferries wasn't able to keep these ships as long as intended, they look so cool! i bet it would have been a sight to see one of them in operation.

I hated them. The seating was awful and inadequate, and the only outside deck space was a small area that was always full of smokers.

Howdy everyone, First time posting here. Happened to be browsing the interwebs and came across a listing for a Pacificat print that sold for the low low price of $10! Bummed I missed the auction because I probably would have paid 10x that amount! Was curious if anyone here happens to have that particular print or ever seen it before? I reached out to the artist and they unfortunately don't have anymore copies available. Nor does BC Ferries. I'm tempted to ask the artist if they'd be willing to do another run of prints if enough members chimed in. Would also have to check with BCF since it was commissioned for them. Don't want to come across any licensing concerns. The following is a link to a Google Form (basically a yes or no if you're interested). If there's enough responses, I'll ask the artist. hi, just found this forum and im hoping someone may have interior photos of the 3 fastcat ferries. specifically the kids playground rooms. I Painted the murals and playground sculptures in those ships but, since back then the quality of photos taken with a cellphone was horrendous I have no good record of the work I did. in retrospect at the time I recall thinking Id take a trip on those ships with a good camera/photographer later on but as we all know they did not last long enough in service for me to do that. if anyone has any photos please let me know, Id so appreciate it. thanks in advance Ovi Attachments:

FYI, I moved this post into the existing thread we have for the Pacificats. You'll find photos of the ships sprinkled throughout this thread. There's a bunch on page 1 that include the interior; none for the kid's playrooms, though.

Is there any status update on three fast cats?
Things have been quite quiet for a while now and I was wondering if there was any chance they will be used for service again or if they are doomed for the scrapper.

Funny you ask, because just a couple of days ago someone posted a very recent photo of two of them on the BC Nautical History Facebook page. The photo shows the Explorer and Voyager tied up alongside in Malta. There was no sign of the Discovery in the photo. They look to be in pretty tough shape now, and it appears vandals have taken over. A few windows appear to be broken, and the bridge wings on both vessels appear to be badly damaged, as if they have rubbed up against each other. These boats sure get around considering their lack of use.

Just had an article in the Sept. 2nd "Kelowna Castanet" sent to me. A photo taken in Alexandria Egypt of two of the fast cats appearing in grim condition. Sorry not sure how to link the article from the phone. Perhaps a member can set up the link.

I wonder 1) what condition the ships are actually in compared to the drab exteriors. Surely there has to be some kind of activity to run the engines now and again; 2) if the Pacificat Voyager is in Egypt as well; and 3) if a visit to a shipbreaking yard is imminent or years away. I remember emailing Abu Dhabi Mar which tersely replied the ships would become military support vessels. I guess that didn't come to fruition.
It just seems this project was cursed right from the start. Aside from the first couple of years of sailing, these ships have pretty much been moored for the rest of the time.

Do you think they would take 500 000$ for one pacificat due to the conditions they are in?

I swear that these ferries are the Rodney Dangerfield of the ferry community.

Does anyone have pictures inside pacificat voyager? If you ask a question four hours ago and you don't get a response, is it really worthwhile to ask the same thing again? Have you looked back over the pacificat thread? On the first page there are interior photos. Chances are, a lot of that stuff would have been removed after the boats were taken out of service.

Well I mean what I was looking for was just some interior pics specifically on the pacificat voyager while she was sitting in north Vancouver there is one thing that has a bunch of pics of her interior while she was in north Vancouver but it is locked or something the link is here: www.flickr.com/photos/erjung/sets/72157603797860000/
