'sigh'... Is it just me or does anyone else lament this is how the story ends? I can't help but feel this was (yet another) missed opportunity. I don't have the answer nor the money, but I'm convinced some imagination + out-of-the-box thinking + favourable gov't assistance
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = == = = = = = = = = = = = a perfect re-purposing of a solution for a problem not identified yet What kills me is that this boat was expensive to build and to deliver here. To watch it simply sail away is such a waste of what could have been (in whatever form that could have been). What? I think this service was doomed from the very start of service due being to expensive and not time competitive to BC Ferries, transit or driving.

Is this not the thread where someone pointed out how poorly the whole operation was managed? Wanting to do business with long established cruise ship businesses means meeting some very rigid specifications and having a ship suddenly go out of service for months (Oops we need some new motors see you all in a few several months) means they won't even answer your phone calls. In addition the ship wasn't custom crafted for that run it was purchased used from some German company. So a bit of a lesson here just because someone had deep pockets doesn't mean they can back into any business they choose.

Not sure if the misunderstanding is from my post or the one from whalebreathMy point was this boat cost a lot of money to bring over and now that we are here, it's a shame nothing could have been done to repurpose it for another use here in these waters.
