Salish Eagle now has black railings at the ends of vessel. What do the black railings actually do? I assume the Salish Raven will also get black railings and new doors in its next refit. Probably covering rust or to show the forward end of vessel. I kinda like the contrast.

I kinda like the contrast. I’d expect the black railings (being much less reflective than white railings) improve nighttime visibility for bridge crews. The Powell River Queen did something similar on the forward ends of her sun deck.

Salish Eagle seems to be operating as a single ender today. I heard 3 short blasts from the horn.

Salish Eagle seems to be operating as a single ender today. I heard 3 short blasts from the horn. Route 9 vessels usually turn around at Southern Gulf Terminals when heading to Long Harbour.

Salish Eagle's blue doors now have touchless buttons. I'm not clear on the concept of a 'touchless button'... do you just wave at it? Or do you say "open sesame"?
