I've seen a picture of the Princess of Vancouver having her bow cut-off, in drydock. I just looked now, and couldn't find it. Someone else on this board might know where to find it, faster than me. ================================= (ps: My name's "Mike" . "Roger" is in my signature to refer to the picture on the right, which is "Major Roger Healy", a character from the TV show "I dream of Jeannie" (he was an astronaut, along with his pal, "Major Anthony Nelson". "Wilma" is Wilma Deering, a character on the TV show "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century". The middle one is from the TV show "The 6 Million Dollar Man". It's an action-figure, re a show when "Andre the Giant" played the role of a bionic bigfoot. TV was great in the 60's, 70's and 80's......).

I'm Nanaimo (all my life), and I too grew up riding BC Ferries, as well as the CPR's Princess of Vancouver.

I have that exact photo, as a postcard, in my collection. I'm still undecided as to which "B" it could Be. On the back it says.....
"Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver B.C. Canada This picturesque bay and ferry terminal is a favourite salmon fishing spot, and can be reached from Vancouver in a short drive along the scenic Upper Levels Highway. Photo by George Weinhaupl Published by Natural Color Productions LTD., Vancouver B.C."

A beautiful and eclectic collection. *sigh* Reflecting on the Foosball pic, I think of our non-car dog trips. Exiled to the gloomy car deck pen with mutts, we could have used a Foosball table for tourneys with other dog/human teams-- but we'd need dogs with thumbs, I guess.

almost makes one feel like a second class citizen having to spend the trip down there

Somewhat, yes, but on the other hand I've seen days where I find the company of the dogs infinitely preferable to that of my fellow travellers.

Scott Point is also home to some very expensive and wonderful looking waterfront houses.
To get to the road, you must drive-through the LongHarbour ferry terminal, and then take a right-hand turn.
There's a yacht-club outpost on that point, too.

yes the royal vancouver yacht club has an outpost about half way between the terminal and scott point. the newer place right out on the point is probably one of the nicest houses on the island. when it was built there were rumours as to whose it ways but according to the land registry it is not a famous person

not really sure but i believe that it is in long harbour. the next pic down from that one is definately in long harbour I'm guessing that the second one of those 2 pics of the Queen of Nanaimo was taken from the other side of this little island; this was taken from aboard the Bowen Queen running Route 9a service from Long Harbour, Salt Sprin Island... ...This time on a one of the relatively frequent mid-day direct sailings from Long Harbour to Tsawwassen Terminal, routing via the overall little-used waypoint by a BC ferry north of the small Prevost Island. The geography of the land above Active Pass can be seen in the background in this short clip.

Some more pics that I've discovered tonight. Horseshoe Bay Oh, but look closer. This is pre Wavy Blue, and pre Expo. This is pastel blue era. Look even closer, and you'll see the Howe Sound Queen sitting in the Langdale Berth. (berth 3?) www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=438092170&size=o&context=set-72157594564734621Other Pics. Queens of Vancouver, Tsawwassen, and Oak Bay, all at Tsawwassen - October 2005 Kite flying from the back of a Ferry? The BCF employee on the left doesn't seem to be concerned at all A dance on the Queen of Surrey?

Another crazy event on the Surrey!
I've seen random dancing, random music, a lady flashing a pleasure-craft and many people smoking Mary-J on the Slurry. She's an entertaining ship

I have often seen music groups who were traveling together do an impromptu concert. A college choir on the way to a competition. There also was an indy band from Seattle that did a neat unplugged version of one of their grunge songs. I have a photo of them somewhere but having a hard time finding them. Supposedly one of their members went on to become famous.
