I mean Ferryman! Pic number 2, well 3 now, was taken from the Beach at Departure Bay. Photo number 6, well now 7, was taken from the Starboard bridge wing of the Queen of Nanaimo. Here's a few more pics that I've found..... I believe the truck ferry is the Haida Transporter. Don't know if it's still around.

TT's Various: Top two are Jumbo Mark IIs Next two are Jumbos (Mark I if you prefer) Bottom is a Super Class, pre-1982 (no orange and blue racing stripes, no Dept. of Transportation "Flying T" logo, and the green/white/black on the stacks is evenly proportioned) and judging from the size of the name on the side, either the Elwha or Hyak.

Yes it is the Haida Transporter, and yes, it is still in use. but the CP and the PS are the more wanted transporters

that game thingy is a Foosball table. they maybe had it in the back of a truck and decided to pull it out and play during the trip. likely a quiet trip looking at the car deck.

All very good finds! I like the last one, and how it makes a cool design on the floor, almost tile like.

re the bottom pic of the Burnaby at Langdale:
I presume that she's headed for the original berth, now affectionately known as "Berth-2" ?

Thanks, Chris, for finding and posting those.
A big thank-you goes out to the crew member of the Queen of Tsawwassen on route 9 who took the time to capture and edit those great views of her.

So the berth we "affectionately" call #2, was actually the original?
That begs the question, How old is Berth 1?
I heard the C-Class ships with their upper car decks, showed up in the '80's. By the time I arrived in '92, we were riding the Cowichan and everyone was talking about the good 'ol days (pre big C's)

By the time I arrived in '92, we were riding the Cowichan and everyone was talking about the good 'ol days (pre big C's) The first 3 C's arrived in 1976: - Cowichan & Coquitlam put onto HorseshoeBay - DepartureBay. - Alberni was put on ?-route, but she was single-decked. The next 2 C's arrived in 1981, so that is likely when the first double-decker was placed on the Langdale run. The photo above says it was 1979, so that would likely be in the 1-berth-era at Langdale.....and from the angle of the Burnaby's approach, she's coming alongside the terminal to back-into the what is now the south-berth. My conclusion: the original berth is the one that we now call #2.

The Alberni was probably on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay route at her start of service It's very noticble but the two Current berths at Langdale look fairly identical in structure you could easily see expansion happening that sees that berth being double ramped.

Langdale has had two berths for a long time if you take a look at the photo below. This is from my brother's collection. I am temporarily without my flatbed scanner so I photographed this newspaper clipping resulting in poor quality. The picture would date from sometime between 1970 and 1976, I believe. In 1976 the C class arrived on Route 2 freeing up B class vessels for the Langdale route (Route 3). I expect that Langdale may have been a two berth terminal since the time when both the Langdale and Sechelt Queens served the route. In the picture you can, of course, see the Sunshine Coast Queen and the Langdale Queen. Langdale Terminal - DOT collection - early 1970's - click on image for a larger image The Queen of Alberni was placed on route 1 (Tsawwassen - Swartz Bay) when it first went into service as the truck ferry supplementing the four V's on that route.
