I wonder what made them pick the Susy-Q for their float... Apparently she is very well remembered on the Sunshine Coast. I found this image of an old Saanich in expo colors at Swartz Bay. Hopefully it is a new posting. www.penderisland.info/photographs/swartz-bay.htm

I've never seen that photo before. It's a lovely twilight photo. It looks like she was tied up for the night. Good find

I'm not one for starting new threads, so here this goes. . . I was looking for information on fuel consumption for each BC Ferry and perused my way thru a BCFS Business Plan document. Well, I didn't find what I was looking for, but this pdf document has some neat little pictures of which I couldn't figure out the location of some of them. If you look thru the document, and please do, where are the locations of the pictures on the following pages of the document: (my guess below for ones that I might know) 3 (Hornby), 10, 20 (Comox), 23, 26, 28 Thanks!

3 (Hornby), 10, 20 (Comox), 23, 26, 28 Thanks! Page 3: Port McNeil (the dolphins are facing the wrong way for Hornby). (just an educated guess) Page 10: Powell River (for sure) Page 20: Little River (no doubt about it) Page 23: Little River, on the north end of the exit lane, looking at the river estuary. (pretty sure about this one). Page 26: Buckley Bay, the ferry to Denman (with Hwy 19A in the background). Page 28: Looks like the Klitsa, and the background mountains look like Vancouver Island. So I'm thinking this location is at Thetis Island's ferry-landing.

Confirmation:
Fluge has got them all right except for one. Pg 28 is Kuper Island, and not Thetis.

Great pic Karl, thanks.

That is impressive, but from that low angle it makes her look a little short and stubby. The name on that Flickr album also sounds familiar... someone should covertly send him a link to the forum, maybe...

That shot of the Vancouver shows the classic BC Ferry "shape" that I remember as a kid when I used to eagerly await the Nanaimo/Burnaby/New West to come around the point into Horseshoe Bay on my trips from the interior to see relatives in Nanaimo. Just great!

That angle makes it look almost as if she was coming in from Langdale. The photo of the Sidney he posted a couple days earlier looks uncannily familiar to me. I think I might have even posted a link to it on this forum before myself.

Just on a whim, I did a search for the MV Bergensfjord after the drawing of it was posted a few days ago, and this is what I came up with... Although this is not the same ship whidbeyislandguy did the drawing (it seems to be a different shipping line with a ship of the same name). This is a photo taken on the cardeck after the ship encountered 8 meter seas on one of it's crossings: www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/iriks/article2273658.ece
