The Queen of Burnaby awaiting disposition at Deas, dwarfed by the Northern Expedition. Seeing the Northern Expedition(looks like a Cruise Ship) next to Burnaby is hilarious, I never realized how BIG/small they were, LOL

Now that is a cool video. Love the passengers reaction and watching the video I’m like why are they freaking out, and then I hear the glory that is a Jumbo class ferry’s whistle. I personally think the Spokane's horn is the worst in the whole WSF Fleet, which is funny because the Walla Walla has such a nice sounding horn

I suspect the practice was discontinued because of the speed difference in light and sound... if the vessel was a mile away, the light illuminates five seconds before the sound gets to you. Limited practicality. I actually have a video like that

Seriously though, I wonder how the 'West's horn went to a minor like that. Didn't they replace the thing that made her whistle sound off? -qod No they didn't, all they did is fixed the cracked pipe or whatever, there is probably debris in them, thats why most horns sound like that. That also brings this to train horns, there is a metal diaphrams in the horns, that could also be cracked.

Just like the Queen of Sidney/Tsawwassen, were all the BCF's like this before What? Those photos look just like the Queen of Sidney and Queen of Tsawwassen, same kind of vessel, were all the BCF V class vessels like this before they were re-built

Just a few more of the Vancouver from the archives from 40 years ago. Life on the coast, the more it changes the more its stays the same. Just like the Queen of Sidney/Tsawwassen, were all the BCF's like this before the were re-built

Often it is because the boat gets scraped and they are taken as in some moments and others I remember seeing being used as a tables in EH in the past. I think Barnacle would give the best answer.. I have fond memories of the Quinault lunch table (and possibly a picture, somewhere). As for the 'why', I don't know. Unless they intend to make displays of them somewhere. I'd love to get my paws on a plank or two from the Steel-Electrics... If you go to Ivars in Mukilteo, they have the MV Seattle's name board

I only went on the Esquimalt once and I heard the whistle in the Active Pass with a beautiful sunset, and that is what made me start liking ferries so much
