Surprised there isn't any photos on here yet. I was returning to work at lunch and the timing was perfect for the second of the new ferries to go by the Johnson Street bridge. I saw the first one going through from work in the mid-morning but didn't take any photos. Attachments:

There's a bunch of those on my post in the British Columbia Nautical History Facebook group, I knew it would happen and like you said, the copy/pasters didn't disappoint! I just sprinkled some sarcasm flavour over onto the British Columbia Nautical History Facebook group thread. Why Why Why Marsha Marsha Marsha Haha I just read that, gave me a good chuckle.
I blame Marsha too....

I think the Island-Class process has now arrived at that special point (no, not Ogden) where the BC general public will suddenly and passionately realize that new ships are here, and that they weren't built in BC. People all across BC will be reaching into their computer archives to copy/paste the same carefully thought-out comments that they posted in 2008 for Coastal Class, 2009 for Northern Expedition, 2017 for Salish Class and 2018 or 2019 for Northern Sea Wolf (actually, no one cares about the Sea Wolf). Brace yourselves for the rhetoric rampage... There's a bunch of those on my post in the British Columbia Nautical History Facebook group, I knew it would happen and like you said, the copy/pasters didn't disappoint!

Thanks Mike, I should've known there was a DIF thread! Here's another photo of the Digby Island Ferry at Point Hope Shipyard from this morning:

Do you know where Kahloke is going for maintenance? Firstly, you owe us a photo, haha (check your original post). I assume that she's doing dock fitting in a number of locations, and then returning to Hornby (per something I saw on a Hornby facebook page). She seems the natural ship to replace Kuper (Thetis route) and Klitsa (Mill Bay route). Sadly no photo, I could screen capture AIS though
I was hoping she was going to Point Hope for a stay, I need another ship to monitor....

Kahloki sailing down Trincomali Channel headed for Fulford Harbour. I am kinda curious the reasoning on doing maintenance on Kahloke during the off-season peak instead of peak season. I would personally maintenance on Kahloke in summer with Quinitsa replacing her on Horby Island route because it would be good opportunity to increase capacity on route while doing maintenance on main vessels during summer. Do you know where Kahloke is going for maintenance?

Tachek had her first day of sea trials today after more than a month at Point Hope Shipyards. They started out with a few maneuvers in Victoria's Upper Harbour before heading out to Jaun de Fuca Strait for more testing before returning to Point Hope later in the day.

Tachek went back in the water Friday, was hoping she'd do a test sailing on the weekend but she didn't move.

Down at Esquimalt lagoon this afternoon, although I did not have Binoculars, It appeared in the Distance that Northern Sea Wolf has all of the BC Ferries Markings It arrived with, and I don't believe anything has been painted out as some posters suggest. I may be wrong but The ship is quite visable from Esquimalt Lagoon. That's good news, however to settle all disagreements maybe someone can take a photo. Photo taken this morning.

And I was lucky enough to see the Tachek pull into Swartz Bay. But I was surprised to see them spin around and dock 'stern-to' into Berth 4. Very nice! Saw her tied up at Point Hope this morning while going to work, was pleasantly surprised.

Chris, these are great posts, but they are mis-placed in this thread. Should be in 'Canadian Pacific from Kamloops Eastward' ... Oops I missed that thread! Can a mod kindly move them?

I love that Drynoch area location for the great photo opportunities on both sides of the highway & river. Thanks for this, and the rest from your recent trip. Thanks! Great area, have a few ideas for future photos. It was a nice quick trip. Big summer trip starts tomorrow!

That shiny & relatively new locomotive #3002 is staring in your photo and mine posted just above. The photos were taken six days apart. Now if someone could just post a photo of her heading east on June 5th ... Ah so it is! Popular engine!
