Would one of our Vancouver Island members stop by the graving dock and see if they can capture a few photo's of the progress on this vessel. I would be especially interested in the green house that will supposedly be placed on the upper deck. No doubt this would come out of a fabrication shop as a single module. Just wondering if any of our Island members have had a chance to mosey by the yard outfitting the 'Northern Sea Wolf' with her 'MLU''s progress? So far BCFS hasn't posted any info. on their web-site regarding this route for the upcoming Summer season. If I had access to the shipyard I'd be all over it.

I really miss taking photos of this railway. Here's WFP 304 & 302 leading a loaded log train through Nimpkish Valley headed for the dry sort at Beaver Cove. April 15, 2017 WFP 304 ~ Nimpkish Valley by Chris City, on Flickr

A trio of SRY SW900's begin unloading a railbarge with cars from the pulp mill in Crofton. Once this barge is unloaded and then reloaded the next barge will be moved in place and the process will be repeated, that barge will be destined for the E&N. Tug Seaspan Corsair keeps watch. Any word on the other New LNG vessels that Seaspan was thinking of building? Haven't heard anything new yet. Can't keep using Carrier though, she's in rough shape.

Swift is in refit so they "unretired" Carrier again.

After completing her stint on the Nanaimo-Gabriola run, Bowen Queen is now approaching Active Pass, I'm assuming heading for Fulford?

So, What is the plan with her then. Are they using her as a breakwater Or going to Scrap her. Why would Seaspan take her from the River to Duke Point?
You can see the carrier in this picture, Just look off the Stern of the Queen of Coquitlam along the shore, you may need to zoom in the picture.

If nobody buys her she'll be scrapped I imagine. There isn't room at Tilbury for her.

Tres Magnifique ! Galiano Bluffs was a fantastic perch for you. Thank you Mike! I was pretty happy when I was watching the scene unfold, if only the Olympic Mountains were clear....

WFP 301 has just dropped a string of empties at Siding 6 and are now making the short trip to Woss to tie up for the day. This crossing at Gold Creek is another example where the logging road and railway share the same bridge. After taking this photo I waved to the crew and hit the highway, ending a two day trip to the Nimpkish Valley. March 26, 2017. Sounds like on Tuesday WFP will be letting the union know what the future is for the railway, employees think they will officially shut down operations. I'd never taken photos of Powell River Queen before so I was hoping I'd get a chance when she would make her move from Esquimalt Harbour after her recent stay at Victoria Shipyards. Today I noticed on AIS she was sailing along the Victoria waterfront and I knew she would be stopping at Swartz Bay so I headed out there and waited, hoping the rain would hold off. That is a great view angle. Thanks for that. Is that a "Get in & get out quickly before someone tells you to leave" photo spot, or is it ok to linger a bit? - I'm thinking of the timelapse possibilities while a ship is being unloaded & loaded. Thanks Mike! I noticed my previous photo of Seaspan Greg from this spot had been lost in the photobucket mess so I wanted to replace it. This is definitely one of those "get in and get out quickly photos" but it's such an awesome view I can't resist. It's an active quarry but whenever I've gone in it's obviously been closed. I'd love to see one of your timelapse shoots from there so I'm hoping you're feeling brave!

Is the Top Shelf Feeds transload area near the old sawmill, at the south end of the rail yard, accessed from Port Drive? Yes, that's exactly where it is. It's just an auger with a portable shelter. Here's a photo from a few years ago showing the transload area: SRY 110 ~ Wellcox Yard by Chris City, on Flickr

Thanks for this. We need to name this traffic-island as "Chris Island" in honour of your great use of it over the years. #4069 in April 2016 comes to mind. Thanks Mike, it's a great little island! I'm still kicking myself for not taking a photo from there when CP was still here...
