A surprise at Departure Bay...The Nicola is currently tied-up in berth 1 awaiting a spot at a shipyard either here in Nanaimo or over on the Mainland... Late Edit

What boat would replace her while she is down south? would they use the Nimpkish? I know when I saw the Nimpkish pass northbound in March 2006, Just a few hours after the QTN passed she had a ramp on her car deck.

Alright, it's official guys! www.bcferries.com/schedules/notices/notice03200802.htmlTemporary Replacement Vessel Posted March 20, 2008 MV Queen of TsawwassenBeginning Wednesday, April 2 with the 6:30 a.m. sailing from Comox (Little River), the MV Queen of Tsawwassen will replace the MV Queen of Burnaby, which is being removed from service to undergo regulatory dry-docking and necessary maintenance. This work is expected to take approximately four weeks.
Due to the smaller vehicle capacity of the MV Queen of Tsawwassen, customers are encouraged to arrive at the terminal at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time. This will assist our staff in processing traffic efficiently, and help with on-time departures.
For further schedule information, please call 1 888 BCFERRY (1 888 223 3779).

Maybe I'm missing something really basic (it has been known to happen..) but what do the numbers in your post mean, Mr. Bertuzzi? Could you enlighten me?

Even if you try to turn them into dates, they do not seem to make a lot of sense.... Perhaps they could be WORKORDER numbers? They look almost sequential enough to be that ... Just my 3.1415 cents...

According Siitech, it looks like QPR is following QCow to Tsawwassen Terminal or she could just be out for sea trials. I saw her this morning at Deas when I drove by on Hwy 99 so she could be ready to head back up north.

I saw her this morning at Deas when I drove by on Hwy 99 so she could be ready to head back up north. Well, the schedules do say that it should be the Queen of Prince Rupert running on the northern routes as of April 4th, which is just around the corner. I would still expect to see her remain in the lower mainland until early next week as there isn't a place to put her until the NorAd has wrapped up. I have always wondered why they don't make the switch in Port Hardy, as the boat entering refit heads down to Deas anyway. However, they always seem to make the switch up at Prince Rupert, which means plenty of deadheading for both ships involved.

On Siitech her destination is listed as Port Hardy. She may have done some sea trials when we weren't looking. Unless whatever was done in refit didn't need to be sea tested.
*refering to QPR

I was monitoring Comox Traffic Late Last Night and the Northern Adventure had a eta for 01:00am this morning for Cape Lazo, The Alaska State Ferry Matanuska also southbound had a eta for Cape Lazo for 00:40am. She was expected to overtake the Nor-Ad.
