It said that the Super C's will not have a "Queen of" or a "Spirit of" in their names. I think they should have kept the tradition of "Queen of", it is part of BC's maritime history. I guess it will go the way of the Sidney...

I wonder what BCFS will call them, but those are the names in the shipyard? Are there 6? 3 going to BCFS, 1 going to Belgium and 2 going to Denmark?

No, that appears to be a list of the areas where ferries are going to be built in the shipyard. So BCFs are right at the end of the yard. That would be pretty neat to see!!

I was looking through that site with shipping companies in another language and found both of these other companies. They are both typical freight carriers, but of course, in Belgium, I ran into another giant box under the Cobelfret line. Take a look at this: .

Must have about 4-5 vehicle decks, that is huge! That must be a long distance freightship.

my 3 choices in the name-the-ship contest were:
- W.A.C. Bennett
- Monty Aldous
- Alfred Waddington
I decided to have my choices as names a famous BCers. Monty & WAC are "Historical" figures in the early days of BC Ferries. Waddington of course has the highest mountain in BC already named for him, was involved in the Chilcotin War, and seems like an interesting historical coastal figure.

Will they be announcing the new names in this coming week? I remember something about "on or around March 8th" for announcing the winners... I'm assuming the names would be announced then as well. I guess I didn't win:(

Well, it's way past March 8th and still nothing from BC Ferries. Anyone know when they'll be announcing the names?

Yeah no kidding. They should announce it right after they pick them (the names). Everyone is holding their breath, so why not announce them??!!

I would rather wait until their naming ceremonies cause then it is a suprise. Why have a naming ceremony when you already know the name? To me, that does not make any sense at all.

Yeah, that sounds better. Well, back to topic, the Super C's are the new C class, so shouldn't their names have a name with a C in it?
Example: 1. Comox 2. Chemainus 3. Courtenay
Just need the pre-fix, like Queen of or Spirit of, but not Queen or Spirit, a new prefix.

That wouldn't be a good idea. Are they just gonna wait till the V's sink in a horrible accident and injure or drown hundreds of people cause that wouldn't do at all the survivors of a accident like that could sue

Yes, 1 is going to replace the Coquitlam or Cowichan, then the replaced C class vessel will go join Super C no.3 on Route 1. Then there will be 4 vessels on Route 2 (Oak Bay, Coq or Cow, Super c's one and 2)
