Dan's sig photo is very good start. How about for this year leaving it open to any WSF vessel? Perhaps AMHS vessels could also be eligible?

Well When you post it like that.
The likely candidate would be the Queen of Surrey......the 2nd. Except for the fact that October was a C Class month including the Slurrey 2, I'd believe that she would be out of the running...
Wait...did you mean What Non BC Ferry? If that's the case then...uh...Might need to take a vote on this one.

I'm thinking of having May 2006 for WSF ships. There are lots to choose from, but I think that this initial-offering should be broad-based to include the entire current WSF fleet as possible choices.
That means that AMHS ships likely won't be a cover-girl until the next annual round of 12 months. I am genuinely interested in having an Alaska Ferry as a covergirl sometime in the 2007-08 cycle.
So, like I said before, get your shutters Klicking, and find some appropriate WSF pics.

Yes, May 2007 is the month of the WSF ship as our forum's cover-banner-photo.
I think that John H & I are in agreement that this is a great opportunity to showcase a WSF ship on our forum's pages. A good way to honour or honor the contributions that the Washington State folks makes to this overall forum.
For those planning to submit pictures for nominations, (nominations to start April 1st, no joke about that)...please include a brief description of the vessel's significance / history etc...so that us BC'ers can gain some appreciation.

Here's some advance notice that the Forum Flagship for the month of JUNE 2007 will be:
- Queen of Sidney / Tsawwassen.
Yes, we are honouring the initial ships of the fleet.
(those following the traditional Jordanian calendar will note that OakBay was originally scheduled for June 07....but Mr. Skier suggested a change, which received full concurrence from the moderator-board).
So, to sum up: For month of June 2007, our flagship will be someone's photo of the Sidney or Tsawwassen.

Yes, the original two should be honoured and June makes a good month to do so seeing as they entered service in that month 47 years ago.
That would honour S1 class ships (Sidney class); when will the S2 Class (the Super V's) have a month?

That's the best idea indeed. It might be a good idea if they always be the Flagships for the Month of June. Just to remember the Anniversary of BC Ferries. But that wouldn't mean the Image would be the same. The winning picture from the previous time would be ineligible.
Anyway, I've got 3 Good Images Already.

I think you'll likely see this on one of the upcoming months....as at least one of the Moderators is expressing interest in this idea. |
