Does the Chilliwack not use the Wedge Rock terminal??? To answer your question in a technically correct way, based on the way that you worded it: YES.

Prince Rupert's Fairview ferry terminals with AMHS's Taku @ Alaska berth & BCF's Northern Expedition @ the BCF berth - 5:30 AM, 24 July 2014. At the same time the Northern Adventure was floating around in the harbour waiting for the BCF berth to be available. Needless to say, I got a few photos which I will post later. © WCK-JST by Wett Coast, on Flickr

Fairview, Prince Rupert, showing part of BCF facilities with a CN train in behind - 4 January 2015. This photo features both a CN train & a BC Ferry terminal. Here we see a pair of 5500 'zebra' units hauling a string of container flats past the ferry terminals located in the Fairview district of Prince Rupert, BC. View is from the ferry Northern Expedition arriving from Port Hardy & the BC Inside Passage. © WCK-JST by Wett Coast, on Flickr

If you will be travelling to/from the Prince Rupert terminal, and you want an idea of what the town layout is like, here's a drive-around video that I found on YouTube.
I enjoyed watching it, reminiscing of places we'd seen and visited during our 2 trips to P'Rupert.

Two ferries @ BC Ferries Skidegate Terminal, Haida Gwaii - 30 June 2015. These would be the Kwuna & the Northern Adventure. We have just left Skidegate en route for the mainland @ Prince Rupert. Hecate Strait is supposed to be placid today. © WCK/JST by JST, on Flickr

Another shot of the BCF Terminal in Skidegate... BC Ferries' Skidegate Terminal (Haida Gwaii) with the Northern Adventure at berth seen from the air - 23 June 2015. The concrete ramp used by the Kwuna for service south to Alliford Bay on Moresby Island is visible on the extreme right of the photo. This shot is from an Inland Air 'Beaver' aircraft, shortly after taking off for Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve at the extreme south end of Haida Gwaii. The photo is unfortunately a bit 'fuzzy'. Was it vibration from the aircraft, scratched up plastic windows that I had to shoot through, shutter speed too low (EXIF data says 1/2000 second), camera's autofocus not functioning properly due to shooting through the plastic window (or insufficient contrast), or photographer error? Probably the latter... © WCK-JST by JST, on Flickr

I can think of only one BCF terminal that has a railway line separating the terminal holding area from the ship's berth(s), and that is Fairview in Prince Rupert. A few years ago we discussed this and figured that it was not a huge deal because the rail line only gets occasional use, and so to the ships berths. However, the last three times I have passed through the Rupert terminal there have been trains interfering with vessel loading and/or unloading. The photo below shows a CN (IC) locomotive marshalling container flats into/ out of the Fairview container terminal while the NorAd was being loaded for our sailing to Haida Gwaii on the evening of 21 June. When we returned from HG on the afternoon of the 30th, our car was held up (for ~ 5 minutes) on the jetty leading from the berth by a string of (probably empty) wood pellet hopper cars being hauled south (west) from the Pinnacle export terminal on the Rupert water front, located north of the BCF terminal. Keep in mind that the adjacent AMHS & Rupert airport terminals are also impacted by this rail line in the same way. re Prince Rupert ferry terminal in the summer:
- The NorAd Haida-Gwaii route has a 41 hour break at Prince Rupert between Tuesday evening and Thursday morning.
- For some of those Wednesday nights, the NorEx is also at Prince Rupert.
So, in those situations, would the NorAd tie-up on the inside of the berth (shore side) at a tie-up slip? Or would she be at anchor, somewhere out in the harbour area?
---------------
....and I was were in the area for such a situation, where would the best photo locations be?

I am unaware of any tie-up facility for 2nd BCF ship in Prince Rupert. I have only ever seen that second ship floating about in the harbour. I suspect that sometimes they anchor out in a designated area in the Harbour. Once I remember seeing the QPR waiting in a cove (Dodge Cove) on Digby Island opposite (roughly) to the ferry terminal location. They don't (can't) use the AHMS berth, though it goes unused for long stretches and might be usable for tie-up if BCFS wanted to make some arrangement with AHMS for that purpose. I do know that since BCFS opted to go with the European berthing system they can no longer load/ unload the ship anywhere other than at compatible berths of which there are just four. As for photos I think anywhere along the harbour front might provide some opportunities depending upon where the NorAd is floating about. For instance the park area to the north of the Crest Hotel might work. The residential area up on the hill directly above the ferry terminals might also present some opportunities (or maybe not) for looking down shots. It looked to me when I was there a month ago that that area was worth scouting out. I understand that you are bringing your vehicle?

I appreciate the expertise of those who've spent lots of time in the area. I will have time to scout out various spots, to see the anchored NorAd. The subdivision above the terminal looks to have no public-land views (per some Google street-viewing). I'm taking my vehicle, doing my part to help Mr. Clarke balance the BCFS income statement (It was a tough decision with various factors weighed and pondered, and in the end I'm comfortable with my decision to take my car to 'Rupert and back.) ...I plan on looking for some rail viewing areas on the road to Ridley Island. I've found a few spots where it looks like a view to the Kaien Island rail bridge might be visible, after I walk through a few trees from roadside.

When I was at the Fairview Terminal a month ago it appeared that they were clearing more land near that subdivision up on the hill. Its worth driving around up there. You just might get lucky.

I should have some cleared land available at the end of Graham Avenue, to get a nice view of the 3 ferry berths. I can make use of that view...

I type this as I wait in lane-1 in the Prince Rupert holding compound.
I think that Port Hardy's holding area is much less claustrophobic feeling, with that nice gentle slope view of the berth and a less enclosed feeling.
Prince Rupert has you waiting a long distance away from the ship, pushed against the hillside.
I prefer Port Hardy, but maybe today's rain and fogged-up windshield contributes to the feeling.
Either way, the NorEx awaits.
