I may have missed something, but I did do some research on this forum into this question, and I just can't quite figure it out.
Did Kelsey Bay have two berths for loading and unloading vessels, or was there one functional berth, and one layover berth? We had the Queen of Prince Rupert serving the route to Prince Rupert, and the Island Princess serving the Beaver Cove- Alert Bay- Sointula run.
'Low Light Mike' refers to a second berth on one of his photo trips, but I'm not clear on the nature of that berth.

From the foggy recesses of my brain I believe that there was one that was built out, possibly on pilings because it was a shallow bay. Going 50/50 that I am right here. I rode the Island Princess from when we moved to Port Hardy. I did grades one and two there.

Yes, there were two berths at Kelsey Bay, a fairly substantial one for the QPR, and a more rudimentary affair for the IP. I suspect the IP berth had to be upgraded when the IP had its big upgrade in 1971. My 'proof' is in a photo taken by my brother, Mr DOT, sometime in late 1966 or early 1967 which I can't attach right now (the WCFF is full * ?).
