Coastal Inspiration looking in need of a little TLC, @ Tsawwassen Terminal 8 February 2022
The Inspiration goes to refit in April, so she should be all spiffed up in time for summer

Update my Swartz Bay watch has confirmed that the Coastal Inspiration is in a 1/4 Quarter life upgrade main upgrade mechanically speaking is we are changing the Propellers and overhauling the rudders and steering gears and after completing the refit we will be placing her on route one and then the Coastal Celebration is being repositioned to Route 30 that being said it is something that I will believe once i see it but it is probably going to be. Sounds unlikely, at best. They're due to run the Inspiration on 30 as always with the Renaissance in the Tsawwassen-crew spot in place of the Alberni.

To be honest I think Coastal Inspiration should swap roles with Coastal Renaissance, I think this decision is most bone headed because we don’t have crew to sail some current sailing but we need to train route 30 crew out of Tsawwassen on Coastal Class vessels and route 2 out of Nanaimo on Queen of Alberni. Route 2 Departure Bay crew should be trained on Coastal Inspiration since she has same layout as Coastal Renaissance so no need to training.

Coastal Inspiration has been in dry dock for some time. I never heard if there was a significant damage of work needed but at nearly and month and bit now, She still hasn't seen water. Any leads. I have a contact at SeaSpan I might ask.

I have a contact at SeaSpan I might ask. Coastal Inspiration is undergoing a Quarter Life Upgrade. She’s the first of the three Coastal Class to undergo the refit. Really, it’s just a large maintenance scope so I doubt we’ll see much in the way of changes to passenger amenities. She is also said to have the most running hours, running nearly 20 hours a day for the majority of her life so far. Yes, the Coastals are 15 years old already…

Also, so far, no sign of the CI getting the blue line added (or revealed?) on the ship's livery.
It hurts me inside a bit that the Coastal class are fifteen years old already.

I remember when the Coastal Renaissance first arrived and BC Ferries did an open house with her at Canada Place. Is it really 15 years ago? I feel so old!

Doesn't really seem that long ago. What really makes me feel old is the memory of attending MV Tacoma's open house at the Port of Tacoma in 1997. That vessel is 25 years old now. Yikes!

I found a short video clip of the propeller pitch test while she was recently in drydock. Inspections to ensure it all runs smoothly. with no leaks, etc, after having the hubs fully rebuilt and new blades installed.

Coastal Inspiration is in Saanich Inlet. ...doing dock fits at Brentwood and Mill Bay. The Klitsa's been overloading lately, so the route's getting a bit of an upgrade.
