A single photo of the Skinny Cow taken Saturday morning. OY! She is the last Queen that was built for BC Ferries. Show some respect. Speaking of which, here's a view looking back at you. Just a week or so ago though.

Just two points of interest in this photo. -The date that photo was taken was on my birthday -The Canadian Flag is at Half Mast, as that was the day Princess Diana passed away

Great photo Jim!
Not to steal away any attention from the photo, but...
Is anyone able to get down to Vancouver Drydock today or tomorrow? It would be nice to get some photos of the Skeena at the Drydock before she heads back. She sails back home tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Has anyone else ever questioned as to why Spirit flags weren't painted on the Skeena, and this more modern paint scheme was chosen?
I always like to think that BC Ferries had a great paint scheme, and was sticking with it. But the Spirits, Pacificats, and the Skeena Queen say otherwise. Did BC Ferries have a new idea in mind for the rest of the fleet, and was maybe going to slowly phase it in? (Maybe this part of the discussion should be in a different thread)

(This photo is related to the discussion that I was having with Chris (Ferryman) in the Deas thread.) However, there may be other clues in the photo that help one to determine the date a little more closely. Thankfully, digital photos have the shooting date embedded in the file with the EXIF data.

:)I have difficulty admiting that the new livery looks perferable to this last scheme, of course she never wore the original pastel dogwood arrangement! :)mrdot.

(Maybe this part of the discussion should be in a different thread) I think that the BCF Corporation wanted new vessels such as the Spirits to stand out from the rest of the fleet and so opted to give them a modified Expo livery. I actually think that these vessels would have looked better if painted in accordance with the standard Expo livery. To see what I mean check out this photo of an artist's rendering of what the SoBC would have looked like: i90.photobucket.com/albums/k268/wetcoastkidjst/Spirit%20Class/WCMariner%20Sept92/BackCover.jpg
