This past Sunday evening, I happened to be aboard the Skeena Queen when someone rode on to the ferry with a bicycle towing a stereo. Once we were on our way to Victoria, the fellow blasts some music on the stereo, attracting a large crowd to come over and dance. I may or may not have jumped in the middle of it all and busted a few moves myself . Anyways, I took a photo of it, and sure enough someone posted a video of it on youtube. The reason for the heavy load was because of the Apple Fest that had happened on Salt Spring this past weekend, so I suppose everyone was coming off the island buzzing off of cider.

your posted pics. of Skeena Q. put me to mind of the awful trials this ferry had in the beginning similar to those our frends in Washington are undergoing with their new ferry. So there is hope when these boats settle down, maybe! mr.dot.

So there is hope when these boats settle down, maybe! mr.dot. What happened to the Skeena Queen during her trials? Vibration issues, mostly. Also, due to a manufacturer/outfitter mistake/oversight, the wrong type of engines were installed, and for a she was running on 3 legs. They were later replaced (2001?) under warranty.

It bother's me that Brasso's gone down in quality sometime in the past few years. I remember that it used to take 6 swipes over one of the brass poles on the Pacific Swift to make it shiny. This year, with the 'new' brasso in the plastic container instead of metal, it took 14!

Someone's eyesight is better than mine.... where is this bell? It's kind of hidden, but you can kind of see it. It's immediately to the right of the lifering on the starboard side bulwark.

lol! No heat? Cant heat all four lounges at once?, lol! Haha, I'm not exactly sure what's up with that to tell you the truth. It's not like there isn't any heat in those lounges, because there is. Each of the lounges seem to be a little different though. One is always cold, one is always warm, one smells, and the other on is sort of all of the above. As plain as she looks, she has a bit of character!

lol! No heat? Cant heat all four lounges at once?, lol! That reminds me of the Tenaka, especially the time I was on her during the summer. There, the problem is getting the heat out of the lounges. You had a choice of hot, for the main upper lounge, and hotter and hottest for the two saddle lounges. It also seems the vending machines were in the hottest one. Very healthy for the chocolate bars.
