Forget BC Ferries...I am surprised that no one has mentioned that Seaspan recently ordered four tugs to be built by Sanmar Denizcilik in Istanbul, Turkey. There is no doubt that those tugs could have been built here using their own facilities... Very true, Scott, Only difference here is that Seaspan is not under constant scrutiny because of executive salaries or people who don't realize how ALTs work. Perhaps if WMG was to lose the bid to build new ships for the Canadian Navy we would hear more about how they could've been building those tugs right now, but it wouldn't be close to the coverage we would get the next time BCFS announces a fare hike.

It is Sad to hear of his passing. The Bannerman Book is one of the only Ferry Books I am in possession of. I found it 6 Years ago at that Saltspring Book Shop that has come up here before. Provided many hours of reading and plenty of good Ferries Shots to look at. Perhaps I should pull it out again in the not too distant future.

Shots from My Trip on the Island Sky this past Friday, the 24th. It appears her Pickle Fork is Open to the Public... Makes Sense as She's not using it. View toward the Starboard Bow. Probably one of the reasons why we're allowed on this deck now can be seen on the bottom right as the gate blocking the path to the Anchoring Mechanism wasn't there before. Not to be missed is the View of the Superstructure, The View Down Below, and the View of the Deck Itself.

Just a darn shame that this is happening after her Refit. I've wanted to take a round trip, but I also don't want to be left on the other side. It's also inconvenient for students at Brooks Secondary because Provincial Exams Start Tomorrow. Though, if this does continue, I wonder if it could be possible for the Queen of Burnaby to stop in at Blubber Bay on her way to Westview. Be interesting to see... I'd be on the Scene with Coverage if that was the Case

I am upset that we fell short. At the same time though, I can't help but respect Boston for putting up a good fight. It's sad to see what is emerging in Downtown right now considering it was hardly a close decision tonight. Who would have thought a season with so much promise could have such a terrible ending. I agree with Jordan, both on the Rioters and on moving onto next Season. Why couldn't these fans be like the ones in Rogers Arena giving respect to our Team and Respecting the Champions. We've had a great season, Best Record, West Champions, 2 Art Ross Winning Players, a Hart Winner and Nominee, a 3rd Time Selke Nominee, a Jack Adams Winner and Nominee, and the Nominee for GM of the Year. The only Question left now is, what can we do to make us Better? I'd say more, but I have a date with my Razor that is long due. Back to Reality, Time to Focus on my Other Interests... Specially since the NIP is as dysfunctional as the Canucks right now.

My Sig this Month Pays Tribute to our Beloved Canucks. I was going to originally include a Ferry in the Sig somehow but couldn't decide on one. Then the sad news that our dear Esquimalt was leaving BC the way the Steel Electrics left Washington State and the choice was obvious. Also, if you're wondering, this was from the Stanley Cup Final Pregame on February 26. First The Original Without the Eskie. and the Current one with Her.

I'll Chime in on the Northern Sunshine Coast
Westview There are a bunch of options here. Mainly Asian Cuisine and Cafes. -Thaidal Zone: Across From Terminal Lot. -Dutch Cafe: Across from Ticketing Area. -Marine Inn (Cafe/Dining Room): On the Corner of Wharf and Marine directly after exiting Ferry Terminal. -Rocky Mountain Pizza: Uphill from the Ferry Terminal on Marine Avenue. -Chaing Mai (Thai/Cambodian): Also on Marine next to Rocky Mountain.
Saltery Bay -Saltery Bay Snack Shack: It only operates in the Summer so all other times of the year you'd be better suited to Grab a Tims, A&W or whatever your preference is.
Blubber Bay (Texada) -Holtenwood Gallery (Cafe Casita): A Mexican Cafe in the back of the gallery serves baked goods and bistro food.

As far as we know this has happened once in the 60s or 70s according to the Bannerman Book. Hence why all 'V' / 'B' Ferries sail with their rear doors closed on the Major Routes. I could see better barriers being put in as a byproduct of this incident.
