It should have happened 10 years ago if it was the V Class but they never got around to it

ok I went past deas yesterday and took a few photos. The SOVI is there along with the Chilliwack and the Queen of the Islands. At North Van is the Surrey.
And the Queen of Prince Rupert, to my suprise is still at Tsawwassen. Are they doing her refit there or what's happening? I thought she would go to deas.

The QoPR is booked for work in Esquimalt. The drydock is currently empty, so it could be coming over very soon.

I'm taking the Q-Vancouver, while the NewWest is in refit.
Question: Does the Q-Van have a regular coastal-cafe type of cafeteria?
2nd Question: What is currenly upstairs, above the Cafeteria, on the Q-Van? Is it closed-off?

The V's dont have Coastal Cafe Cafeterias. Only the refurbished ships have them. You can get all the same food as on the other major ships but it's just called "The Cafeteria" The Vancouver just has a regular Cafeteria like the Esquimalt has only difference is the lineups are in the middle so you can actually get a window seat. Upstairs is just a lounge where the Buffet used to be. I dont honestly know if it will be open on route 30. The one on the Esquimalt hasent been while on that route. Maybe if it's peak sailing it might be open.

The Cafeteria on the Vancouver, and the other 2 V's, offers the White Spot Triple O's Menu, nothing more really.
I remember when they started doing the change from the regular cafeteria menu, to the White Spot Menu. I thought, "Great, that means there will be a good menu, with a wide variety of choices..". Turns out they pretty much specialize with Burgers and Fries, at the same price it would cost to get a burger at Mcdonalds, but with several surcharges, making the cost of your meal come to about $10.

It looks like the Cowichan is at Departure Bay now. According to RBI she will be back in service tommorrow (Sunday) and the Coquitlam will be doing extra sailings from Departure Bay on Sunday. Then the Coquitlam is off to route 30 on Tuesday to replace the Alberni!

Well I just happened to catch a glimps of the Esquimalt Drydock and well the Queen of Esquimalt is in Esquimalt now. She isent in the actual drydock but she is tied up where the Saanich was. Facing inwards this time. Looks like it's her turn for refit. The Esquimalt in her namesake town of Esquimalt!

I was just thinking but if the refit time stays the same for the Queen of Coquitlam as it was last year and the Queen of Surrey time stays the same as it was two years ago then the two ships will have refit at the same time and the Queen of Esquimalt usually replaces them both when they need refit so what will happen?

This post makes absolutely no sense. Please try again, but with some use of grammer this time.

I think I understand? And I think the answer is they only do it every two years. But I'm not sure.

Coastal-Baltar thinks this is a run-on sentence. That being said, let's wait & see what will happen during this refit season. Perhaps Langdale service will be replaced by tug&barge? Seriously, I've lost track: Has the Coquitlam already had her annual refit? When the Surrey has her refit, do you think that she'll be replaced by the Esquimalt?. Or will they pull the Coquitlam off of Route-30, put Coquitlam on Route-3, and put Esquimalt onto Route-30? I think the rule is that the slowest replacement ships get put onto Route-30.

The Queen of Coquitlam was first for her annual refitt this year, she went just after Labour Day, This is her normal refitt pattern as it was before her mid-life.
According to the Schedual for Duke-Point to Tsawwassen the Coquitlam will be replaced by a V-Class from Mid Feb-mid March most likley she will be going to Horseshoe Bay to take over for the Queen of Oak Bay.
Now although it is not let scheduald The Coquitlam will probably have to replace the Queen of Surrey too before Summer. Either that or The Langdale schedual will have to be modified to allow for the Queen of Esquimalt to replace the Surrey for her refitt.

I just realized that between February 15th and March 15th neither the Queen of Esquimalt or the Queen of Vancouver are running. So passably the Queen of Esquimalt could replace the Queen of Coquitlam while the she replaces the Queen of Oak Bay her refit. The Queen of Vancouver could replace the Queen of Surrey for her refit.

Both Queen of Esquimalt and Queen of Vancouver WILL be in service during Feb 15- March 15, I can garantee this. The Duke Point Based vessle during this time will be most likley the Queen of Esquimalt as the schedual has been modified for a V-Class ship see the schedual. Also during this time the Spirit of Vancouver ISland is normally in for her Annual refitt. This means that the Queen of Saanich will be the #1 ship based at Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen and the Queen of Vancouver will be needed for the sailings that the Queen of Saanich does. This is the Normal course of action taken by the Ferry Company in the past.

hmm that's odd cause the Queen of New West will be back in service and the Coquitlam is replacing the Alberni so there is no need for the Esquimalt on route 30 even if the Saanich is replacing the SOVI the Queen of Vancouver will be the replacement and the Esquimalt will be the extra! Unless they are removing the Coquitlam for some reason!

We are scheduled to be on the Esquimalt on rte 30 from Feb.14 - Mar.15. The Coquitlam will be replacing either the Oak Bay or Surrey. (unsure which one)
