I'm still working on getting my boss to let me off work for the next two weekends. I'm planning on going to Victoria next Saturday and come back on Sunday. Then hopefully doing the Circlepac trip the following weekend. It will be interesting to see what will happen, seeimg I just got back from a 2 week holiday on Tuesday. But I have a feeling it won't be a problem. I think I'll stay at that Motel by the Ferry with you guys. It is a bit much trying to cram that whole trip in one full day, and then having to go back to work at 6am the next morning, wouldn't be too fun. I also think we should squeeze in that extra trip on the North Island Princess on the Saturday evening, because she looks like a neat Ferry. So if you guys are up for that, then great!

Would 5 rooms be enough at the motel??? I would get my own room. I think Graham might too. Not sure about Scott and Flugel and everyone else?? Who would share and who wants their own room???

I would try and lock in group rates if possible and I can now confirm that I am coming on this trip.

I'd prefer doing the 5:40 p.m. for doing the round trip to Texda Island just to add.

Ok I was talking with one of the Powell River guys the other night and we are planning to do the 5:40pm roundtrip on the NIP to Texada and do the 6:50pm sailing back which we would arrive back in PR at about 7:25pm then can get dinner then do whatever. I woulent mind looking for a cool spot to see the Queen of Burnaby come in again around 8:30pm that night or even go back to the terminal to get photos. Although it will be dark probably by then. We will catch the 3:15pm to Powell River then check into the motel then walk from the motel down to the ferry seeing it's like half a block. We already have one member who is booked in the motel and I will be doing so in the next few days. We should be at Comox by around 2pm to be safe incase it happens to be busy. So the Vancouver guys the 10:40pm sailing from HSB would be best so we could meet up around 12:15pm or if most people are driving then maybe just meet at Comox or something. But people driving remember try to stay together and not to far behind cause that sometimes could cost you missing a sailing if the ferries are busy. The following day would be the 11:45am sailing we could take from Saltery Bay which we could be at Langdale around 2pm to make the 3:05pm to HSB. Unless there are people who want to go earlier from Saltery Bay so we can make the earlier Esquimalt sailing. We will meet the PR guys by the waiting area on the dock.

So,
10:00AM: Mainlanders meet up at HSB, and board the 10:40 sailing to Nanaimo,
12:15PM: Islanders and Mainlanders meet at Dep Bay
2:00PM: Arrive at Comox
3:15PM: Board Queen of Burnaby to PR
5:40PM board NIP to Texeda
7:25 Arrive back at PR, check into Motels/accomodation
Next Day
11:45AM: Board Queen of Tsawassen to Earls Cove
3:05PM: Board Queen of Surrey to HSB, Mainlanders and Islanders will part ways at HSB

Sounds like a good plan to me!
I'm still on the maybe for this trip. Currently, I'm in the process of spending my hard earned monies on a car. Also, I have this weekend off, to do a trip on Route 1 to Victoria, with some of my family members from Portland, Oregon, so we can all wander around Buchart Gardens. So, I'm gonna push hard to get the time off, and pull the funding together to do this trip, as it would be a perfect end of the summer trip, plus it's just 5 days away from my Birthday as well!

So I guess we should plan on meeting then at Little River??? There is no point meeting at Departure Bay then if the mainlanders are driving over as no one will need rides so we might as well just meet at Little River or somewhere else in between.

I'm in, for the trip.
It should be a fun mix of ferries and getting to know our fellow ferry-nerds.
I look forward to it.

I'd be in, but it would help if anyone had a price quote includong accomodation and food etc.
Just so I have an idea.
Or an average of what we'd all be chipping in.

Question: I'd be in, but it would help if anyone had a price quote includong accomodation and food etc. Just so I have an idea. Or an average of what we'd all be chipping in. Answer: For prices, I've calculated that for: Drivers:Total Original Price-$128.55 15% Discount (Circlepac)-$19.28 Overall Cost-$109.27 + Gas Passengers (ie: Graham ) Total Original Price-$28.60 15% Discount- $4.29 Overall Cost- $24.31 (+ Gas and Vehicle Fare for driver, $10.00?.. ;D) That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. If you look into it closely, like Graham would to get more for your buck, it costs about the same and a tiny bit more than it would to go to Mayne Island. --->4 Ferries trips in a day for $34 is a good deal, and is cheaper than going to the Gulf Islands for Frick Sakes<---

Monsieur Chris
That original quote was not for an overnight trip... that was from when we were debating a one-day excursion
Okay I get food is a fluid cost (depending on how many people eat as much as I do- I'd budget high myself) but I don't have any idea what to spend on accomodation lol.

Mr. Toft,
Karl and I found a Motel just a block away from the Powell River Ferry Terminal. which was about 60-70 dollars. I might budget apoximately 60 dollars for food.

I was thinking about the Langdale sailing, personally I would rather take the Queen of Esquimalt from Langdale to HSB so what I had thought of doing would be still take the 11:45am sailing to Earls Cove then take your time going down stop in Gibsons then plan on arriving at Langdale just after 3:05pm after the Surrey leaves in plenty of time in case it's busy to make the 4:20pm Queen of Esquimalt sailing to HSB. Anyone else want to do that??? But what I am saying is to drivers is you can do what you want. Take whatever sailing you want to take. I would just prefer the Esquimalt to HSB as you dont too often get to take the Esquimalt to HSB. They Surrey will be with us for a long time yet.

I think I am going to reserve the 4:20pm sailing out of Langdale on the Queen of Esquimalt. It looks like me graham and flugel will be doing the Esquimalt sailing from Langdale. I think if your driving it would be a good idea to reserve so your not stuck waiting for hours, unless you cant afford it. I know we said before we would take the 3:05pm sailing but I would actually like to get on the Esquimalt again.
