Yeah I would like to get off on Texada too. Get some photos of the NIP Flugel mentioned there was good pizza place near the motel. Is that the same one?

Here's the directions to the motel... When you get off the ferry, drive up the hill and once you get to the intersection with Marine Avenue, you drive 1 block and then a tiny bit further and then it will be right to the right side of the road, I will be down there at the motel early waiting on the side walk, and I will be wearing a black Nirvana t-shirt... I'll be there because I'll be around that area around 4:30, and I have nothing better to do with my time, haha... So yeah, I guess I will see all you guys tomorrow... P.S. Have fun with the traffic, hehe, ;D

Could be...It's right above the ferry terminal. It's called Rocky Mountain Pizza, and their pizza is to die for! So we will all walk there from the ferry and buy dinner...

Not much longer now until we're on our way north. I'm really looking forward to this myself because I haven't been aboard either the Burnaby or the NIP, let alone on any ferry route in BC (in memory) north of Langdale.

Okay I'm on the Texada Route Only. And I don't think I can convince my parents to drive me out to Saltery Bay

This has been a busy subject today!
I've just got home from work, and I've already started to prepare for the weekend, with getting the right amount of funds together. So is anyone "hitching" a ride with me? I'd like to split the costs with someone, if at all possible....So, Doug, what has your mother decided? Are you going with her, going with me, or not going at all?
Also...what's the official plan of attack for Sunday, because I'd like to know if I'll have enough time to stop by the bank in Powell River, before we head off to Saltery Bay.

Well the plan is to take the 11:45am out of Saltery Bay so we would probably leave PR by 10am.

The Saturday evening plan for taking the later ferry back from Blubber-Bay is great, as the Westview terminal is a great photo-opportunity from 8-9pm nightly: First the NIP comes in and unloads....and then moves out of the way for the Burnaby to come in and do it's thang. Meanwhile, the NIP just waits near the dock, right in front of the car holding area of the terminal. Once the Burnaby leaves, then the NIP comes in and loads for Texada.
While all this is going on, there will be a nice sunset over Harwood Island.
And Yes, Rocky Mountain Pizza has great food.
Chris: There's a BMO bank just 4 blocks north on Marine Avenue. A close drive from the Motel area.
I'm looking forward to a clear, sunny day at Jervis Inlet on Sunday, for some great pictures, and some picture-taking at Earls Cove (I like the old wooden berth there).
I'm looking forward to meeting my fellow enthusiasts too, although I'll have the dubious disctinction of being the oldest nerd present.....who knows, maybe I'll be close-in-age to Dan's dad?
See you guys tomorrow. If we're late arriving at Little River Terminal, it's because Karl had to stop at an internet cafe to make a post! (lol)
ps: Q-Burnaby cafeteria food is old school, no White Spot, and the ship is free from the "Coastal" brand, I think.
We should ask the chief-steward for a bridge tour, and maybe a tour of the closed upstairs midship & aft lounges......as this is normally forbidden territory. The Comox-PR route has lots of open water, and so the Bridge crew likely has time to give us guys a tour, once she's in the middle of the strait.

Thanks for the bank location, HMCS.
Sounds like a great idea, with the bridge tour. I'm getting more excited as I think about it......I'm just curious as to how the traffic is going to be out of Horseshoe Bay tomorrow morning. I guess if I really have to (missing the 10:40 sailing), I can just backtrack the route, and go via Langdale and up to Powell River. But I hope I don't have to do that. I have Karls cell phone number, so I'll keep close communication with him until we meet up, hopefully on the Island.

Yeah that would be the other option other wise you would have to miss the NIP sailing and take the later ferry to Powell River. That would suck for you guys.

Well, Karl's reserved on the Esquimalt sailing, so he and me will be on that ship.
I'll keep my eyes open for you guys at Langdale Terminal. Will your friend Mike be the one who's unconscious?
If we can't find you, we'll leave a cinnamon bun on Karl's car-hood, to attract you.......

Okay then I'll be on the Texada Route for sure. But if you can't find me and you get to a computer. Look for a guy with a grey shirt and light blue pants wearing a black BCF cap carrying a black camera case with 2 BCF pins and wearing black flip-flops. Shane knows what I look like so it shouldn't be a problem.
