Keep in mind those numbers for the Esquimalt include the capacity for the platform deck... The platform deck is no longer used due to them not meeting certification standards... With the New West, she runs four 14 year old Finnish Wartsila Diesels, while the Esquimalt (as well as her sisters) run the two German MAK Diesels.... Look at your own pictures! You have a pic of her bottom car deck with no platforms!

Take a look again.... The Esquimalt has the platforms....
If there is one ship that I know like the back of my hand, it is the Esquimalt... I have spent many hours on that ship while it is tied up in Departure Bay...

Holy, Why didn't I notice that when I was on her in March. I had always thought they took them off, but not just simply raise them to the ceiling. Right on Oak Bay is back with the fleet from what I'm hearing! I guess they will be doing Sea trials then off to Deas to get stocked up? Then to Departure Bay I guess for crew training. Scott make sure your there when she's there.

Lets get every ship throughout the fleet throughout the year at Departure Bay so Scott can do a photo shoot of all the ships. That would be alot of photographing though!

I bet she has close to 10 days down in North Van and then she heads to Departure Bay and the big switcheroo happens with routes 2 and 3 with the Surr and the Coq

I was assuming she'd head out a few days early, not just for the switch but so the Coq can go through familiarization, and redecalling for the new run. Ditto for the Surrey.

Makes sense they would wait to do the maintenance work on the Cow and Coq until the Oak Bay came back.
