I have decided to buy my self a new toy. I am going to up grade from my Nikon D30 and was looking at a D5200. I was wondering what other people in the forum are shooting with, and what there opinions are of what they have shot with in past.

I don't think that I would be putting to much weight in what Ms. Clark announces. I do not expect to see her around this time next year and a new government will probably have there own plans.

Another slide I picked up, Queen of Alberni, undated, but obviously early on in her career. That is a fantastic picture! I love her in her original configuration!

ya gas prices hurt, my Ford has a 7.5l in it, hard on gas is a understatement, I am in the the midel of starting to install a Cummins out of a dodge in it built ford tough powered by dodge You traitor, you..... But yea, when you take one of those Super duty engines at full power up a Coquihalla Hill, you can practically see the gas gauge droop lower and lower... not a pretty sight in this day and age. Is the Cummins better on fuel? How's it in power, compared to the old engine, which I'm assuming was stock? its all about the old Cummins (12 valves) I just finished tuning up my father in-laws 1996 dodge he gets 13.8l per km. I spent $1300 on it and it puts out 284hp and 589 ftp with over 250000k on it. The Cummins gets the best mileage while making cheep power. I just love my Ford's!

Ya the winter is a very different story, the wife and I (pre kids) would go up for new years and it was all 4 tires chained up in my old F350, them where good times I'm seriously considering buying an older (pre 2000) Ford truck within the next couple years, probably put some 32-ish inch tires. I'm just worried that it might turn out to be overheight on the ferries....... 32s son my family mobile is running on 34s (F350) and no its not over hight.....well it might be but they never charge me. My 78 chev that is on 36 is over hight thought at the same time it almost never sees the ferry. I should add that all my trucks are old, I have had 3 1994 F350s (I still have one) I can't remember how many 70s chevs and my good old jeep, and we won't get in to my cars. My wife rags on me all the time, I just turned 29 and I have had more trucks then most people have had cars by the time they retire.

Now we are talking about one of my other past times. That road is a easy this time of year, I have seen Honda civics (I wouldn't recommend a Honda civic) but till snow hits your Escape shouldn't have any issues, just be cautious of side roads off the main road some of them are a little hairy.

The only problem I ever saw with the idea was are the over heights that would have to be pushed off because well the very obvious reason of all route 9 traffic would have to be on the lower deck. Is there enough water at village bay for the super Cs to dock?

Mileage photo your timing of the route 1A comment is perfect to what I was just about to post. Long story short I just finished a long conversation with a few of my days old friends and as usual a conversation around BC Ferries was a hot topic at dinner. It was brought up that during the week why doesn't the route 1 vessel stop at say Mayne on its way to and from Victoria then have the small ferries do drops to the other islands from there as they already do. It was stated by one of the guys that this had been done in the past, I told him I was unaware of this and would look in to the statement. (I have never seen any evidence of this and if anyone can enlighten me if this had been the case in the past I would appreciate it) I have thought of a run like this in the past but was never really about to figure all the logistics around it, but not running a half empty (at best) run in the winter would defiantly save a respectable amount of money.

CP's O Yard switcher idling on the engine spur. Funny I drove by this exact same spot on Kent st and saw that locomotive today also. On Thursday CP had a few guys working in a bucket truck on the cable that is there.

The SoBC has mechanical issues this morning. Its first round trip has been cancelled as a result. The C-Cel will add a round trip starting at 12 Noon from SWB to help clear up the backlog of traffic. There is currently a two sailing wait at Tsawwassen. I have no info on what is the problem with the SoBC. As of now AIS is showing both the Spirits at Tsawwassen. It would be pretty cool to see the both of them at Tsawwassen at the same time.

It is still busy on Sunday this time of year, I wouldn't plan on that working but in all my years I have never tried it. That is the last sailing of the night for Galiano. (The 8pm is a direct boat if I recall correct) My advise would be not to plan on it and make a reservation for the 8am or 8PM if you are driving.

I have to ask, where did you take that picture? My guess would be Bennent bay.

It think that she moved today according to www.marinetraffic.com. I found this marker in the same spot next to Anvil island and marked as moored and have been assuming it to be her. So if I have been assuming correct then she is now just south of Port Mellon. The ship number it is listed under is 720794000. The ship number brings back the tug Craig Trans. That tug showed up at the northwest side of Anvil Island a few days back. We have been keeping an eye on her, but are not sure that she has the Saanich, thus there was no mention of it... We'll see what more we can find out... Well I stand very corrected, I just started playing with Marine traffic and when I encountered it. Like my old man says "assumptions make arses out of you and I" and in this case me!
